Re: rip off by themobs.com
Me too - promised a number of things by this company and disappointed to be over three hundred pounds out of pocket - considering that '3' had theMobs linked to their website I think that they should take some responsibility for using theMobs as representatives. I too have all my paperwork and some webpages somewhere (I think). If this goes further then I'd like to take part as I've found '3' to be less than helpful on a number of occasions!
Cheers for now

Re: rip off by themobs.com
I have just had an email from 3 that say they have no knowledge of Themobs being in liquidation. So much for their integrity.
The best thing is definitely to band together and contribute towards County Court actions. Phreek seems to know all about it and I am happy to support.

Re: rip off by themobs.com
As for 3 not knowing that the mobs were in liquidation they must have known summit cos the women i spoke to from three said they were no longer a listed agent. 3 must have wondered about all the people who had the claim back voucher deals with them and surely they would have questioned it. There must be some sort of process for 3 to go through if all of a sudden the mobs stop being agents for them when people are owed money. Even if 3 would allow you to stop your contract with them before the 12 months were up it would be summit but they just dont want to know.

Re: rip off by themobs.com
We too had 2 phones with the mobs.Same problem as everyone else here no cashback.Luckily 1 contract is finished but am stuck with the other one.
I feel that 3 should allow us to cancel our contracts with no comeback to us -the customer - as the mobs have broken their contract with us.

Re: rip off by themobs.com
My wife has been done by the mobs recently. Funny thing is, we found out purely by chance. No one officially told us they went bust. I e-mailed 3 and explained what happened, they rang me back straight away but said there was nothing they could do.
I have a contract with Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse and I too have just been done! Carphone Warehouse kept my bill for nearly 2 months, then sent it back saying I had sent the wrong bill and it was too late to send the correct one. I hadn't sent the wrong one in the first place, so rang Vodafone. Guess what they said? Carphone Warehouse were playing silly beggars because Vodafone wouldn't deal with them anymore and they had done this to a lot of Vodafone customers. Vodafone said there was nothing they could or would do about this.
They did however take the opportunity to offer me a new contract when my existing one runs out in March. They offered me half price line rental for 6 months as long as I kept my old phone, too good to be true eh!
I have told both companies quite politely what I think of them and declined Vodafone's new offer.
Seems like any cash back offer is a complete waste of time!

Re: rip off by themobs.com
Interestingly I have had further conversation with 3. They apologised for the previous misinformation that they didn't know that the mobs had gone into liquidation but now confirmed they had deleted them from their suppliers list over a month and a half ago (at least.). They also offered a cut price renewal deal when my contract expires. I can also change to a lower tariff but they will charge me £25 to do so.
I have been given their complaints department address so I will write formally and also under |The Freedom of Information Act ask for details of number of complaints about the mobs, dates, when themobs was suspended, what warnings they issued to their customers about themobs,(they told me they couldnt't tell which they were - obviously a lie!) details of the agreement with their agents e.g quality control, treatment of customers, how they monitor performance, copies of 3's articles and memorandum of association, names and position of directors etc. In other words make them work hard for this neglect of their customers. NB it is an offence not to provide the information requested. Everyone can have a go if they want to comit the time and effort. Good luck everyone.
PS Failure to provide a satisfactory result under the complaints procedure leads to you being able to make a formal complaint to Ofcom. I am pretty sure I will be doing that too - and to my MP. The more we push the better chance of legislation being tightened up so this can't happen again so easily.

Re: rip off by themobs.com
I am gonna complain to 3 also. If i dont have a satisfactory result from them i will contact watchdog and ofcom. The more people who speak up the better chance summit will be done.

Re: rip off by themobs.com
Just saw this thread and thought I would mention my experience. I am I guess luckier than most on here although still lost out, I signed up for a contract on 3 for 18 months which luckily for me had the money off taken by 3 immediately so my bill is just reduced for the first 6 months, however what I have lost out on us the free gift of an Xbox 360, I even sent my bills recorded delivery so I could make sure that someone had to sign for them, it was the offer of an Xbox 360 that swung the contract for me however so I still am with a contract I probably wouldn't have bothered with otherwise!!

Paul
I too have suffered the same fate; have you got anywhere with compensation from 3 or at least got them to offer you a cheaper contract or pay as you go?
cheers Ian

Re: rip off by themobs.com
I have just come across this thread of emails. I have only found out this morning that Mobile Solutions are no longer operating. I was phoning once again to find out why I have not received my first of two refunds (I have been waiting since September 2006). I’ve just emailed 3 (customer.services AT 3mail.com) stating that I wish to end my contract with them as of today (I only have 2 months left). I was never contacted at anytime by 3 or Mobile Solutions to inform me the company was closing. What a rip off!

Re: rip off by themobs.com
Hi
Has anyone got any further with this? I have just found out I too have been conned and am over £200 out of pocket, with 3 small kids I am absolutely devastated.
Is there really nothing we can do?
Would love to hear from anyone with any practical advice.
Best wishes

Re: rip off by themobs.com
The only way to avoid this, is to get your phone directly from the network. yeah, you'll pay more. But there is no way they can steal your money like these 'Cashback Bandits' seem too. The UK networks are heavily regulated by legislation, the bandits seem to do what they want!
