Re: rip off by themobs.com
Got my contract with this company, when I was setting up they asked me for the name of a sibling which I thought was odd but didn't think too much of it. The account has been set up with the wrong name (the name of my sibling), wrong date of birth, and wrong address. Result is I still pay the bills but I can't change any details on the account (like changing my 3 contract). Been trying to call the company on 0780 111 0157 but I sit "in the que" for between 4 and 8 minutes each time listening to "your call is important to us, please stay on the line and we will transfer you to the next possible agent" then eventually I get "There is no one available to answer your call" and the system hangs up on me.
On the rare occasions dealing with the call centre agents in the past (when originally setting up the contract) I found them to be difficult to talk to because they have a very poor grasp of English and strong accents. I am currently working with "3" to cut them out of the loop.
I suggest looking at http://www.ciao.co.uk/themobs_com__5646021 for other people with similar experiences.
Regards,
Toby Berriman

Re: rip off by themobs.com
i signed a 12 month contract with themobs. When I tried to claim back my cashback they told me I had sent a blank voucher and my claim was void. When I asked for my claim to be returned I was told it had been shredded. I have since taken out a small claim against them but it seems they have now shut down their website. I suspect they have simply opened up under a different company name and website. This company is a complete con and their directors should be traced by the police and prosecuted for fraud. The telephone companies should also take responsibility for working with fraudulent companies. I will respond again once I know the result of my claim.

Re: rip off by themobs.com
Hi Brian
I do not know if Cath has contacted you but I would be mopre than happy to discuss my experience of themobs service. Which as far as I am concerned is a complete con. Please let me know your contact details if you would like to speak to me. I have kept allof my paper work and I have also filed a small claim against them through the courts. As the company is now in receivership I will not receive any monies from them.
Regards,
Paul Yates

Re: rip off by themobs.com
Having just tried to contact themobs with regards a cash back question pre sending my claim off, i too was greeted with a voice message stating that "Due to unforseen circustances we "the company"no longer operate. (0870 111 0157)
I started to look on the web and found your thread with regards Themobs and thought i should tell you what has been said to me by 3 The mobile company who the contract was with.
I rang 3 customer services (333) and spoke to a chap called Carlton who could only give me contact details of Themobs, i tried to explain to him that i had these details and would not be able to speak to anyone at themobs as they had gone into liquidation. I also tried to explain that i felt the contract had been broken but not by me and that i did no longer want to carry on with the contract as i would no longer get money back as stated in the contract. So in my opinion the contract had been broken at that end.. He could noot help me and i asked to speak to a higher manager.
I was put through to a manager called Nehal and once again explained what had happend with themobs etc. and that i wanted the contract and direct debit cancelling.
Nehal offered me three options
Pay the full line rental for Jan 07 to July 07 £35 per month and terminate the contract.
Pay to switch (£25) to a lower costing contract
Find someone to take over my contract.
I have declined all three offers.
These offers do not help the suckers like me who have been duped by mobile companys and in a way encourage themobs to carry on because we have to pay our contract no matter what.
Three dont care what happens to the bill payer as long as they get their bills paid.
I explained this to Nehal and he told me to contact customer services by email if i was not happy, when i asked to speak to a senior manager he declined my offer and said email. I asked him if he realized how serious this was and what this press would have on 3 and he was not really bothered.
Why can't 3 or any other mobile company have a money bond from these companys who offer deals on their networks which would ensure this would not happen again.?
I was offered 12 months discounted line rental £35 x 6 = £210 (for first refund 1 to 6 months) and same for month 7 to 12.
Hope this helps. If anyone wants to contact me pleased do.

Re: rip off by themobs.com
There may be something on the BBC morning programme Friday, i understand they have a good example case of someone like us. I would like 3 given some stick over this as they dont give a Damn. Another major company who only want money out of the punter.I would not be suprised if there were many fingers in many pies in this game and it could go a lot higher than people think. Unless 3 wanted to stand up and be counted.

Re: rip off by themobs.com
Another successfully conned mobs customer. I made it even worse by buying two phones for my two teenage boys who were happily on PAYG with Vodafone only spending about £4 each month. Only thing I can think of doing is ending the contracts my wife and I have with Vodafone (we are out of contract), porting our numbers to Three and transferring these contracts to our business. Does this sound logical. Only thing is I seem to remember something about the phones and sim cards being locked to each other and I do not want to give up the PDAs we use - both of which are unlocked. Just checked and my PDA has rejected the THREE simcard. How do I get round this?
Thanks,
Peter

Re: rip off by themobs.com
I have spoken to 3 but they absolve themselves totally from the matter.
It seems to me that TheMobs (Mobile Solutions) were acting as agents for 3 and 3 should accept responsibity for their agent's actions.
I am initiating a County Court Action naming 3 and Mobile Solutions as co-defendants.
Good the BBC are getting involved .
I am also going to inform the Daily Mirror Investigation Team and refer them to this site (and others)

Re: rip off by themobs.com
I have just spoken to Three as this is the first I have seen and heard about this. I posted my 6 months worth of bills and voucher to the Mobs.com last week. Three want to take no responsibility for the fact my promised line rental of '£3.99' a month is a complete con. I was happy on PAYG but thought this deal was too good to miss. I can't afford £35 a month - and to make it worse the handset has been repaired 4 times and is still not right and only now 6 months in to the contract am I able to get a good enough signal to use my mobile at home! If Three paid The Mobs to win our business surely they have to be held accountable? I'm assuming I can't just cancel my contract??

Re: rip off by themobs.com
Hi i too have been ripped off by the mobs. Worse still it is two mobiles, mine and my partners. so rather than paying for two mobile on 3 for 10 pound a month we are now paying seventy pounds between us. I sent my 6 month voucher back in oct and my partner sent his nov we hadnt heard anything so i rang them yesterday. All i got was a recorded message saying they were no longer trading. It seemed such a genuine offer at the time and now i kick myself for falling for it. Three mobile wont do a thing bar give you a number which gives you the exact same recorded message. They are quite happy to take all these customers even if they are getting ripped off in the process. never again will we have a three contract phone. sticking to payg in future. Anyone with any suggestions on to what to next please reply to me. I will be about 450 quid out of pocket at the end of the year cos of these con artists.
Ps what was the outcome on bbc about this as today is the first time i have been on this forum.
