car going into dealer on thursday as it needs to be plugged into diagnostic machine.....at main dealer!

     going to cost alot!

    Oh no!

Shame you can't just switch the light off! Did you find out if you were near the voluntary termination point yet?

I wish i did live close. The phone line lets you hold for 11 mins then cuts you off!! I sent the last letter to the new address for RCI when they took over Renault Finance and marked it for the Managing Director. We are due to pick up our new car on Thursday and can't afford to be paying out for 2 cars!

    Re: renualt finance

Not sure what more you can do aside from keep on at the finance company as it is them that you have the agreement with, not the supplying dealer. Have you spoken to them on the phone and confirmed that you are sending the letters to the right place? If you do end up having to tax it in the interim, you can reclaim any unspent full months of the tax disc at the post office so not being too out of pocket.

I would call the finance house and speak to a manager or somebody higher up than a call centre monkey and ask for a name who you can address a letter to personally.

Sounds silly, but you don't live anywhere near the finance company's address do you??

    Re: renualt finance

I am in the process of trying to voluntarily terminate my agreement - half the term has been paid but the dealership are refusing to take responsibility for the car if i return it and i am getting no answers to any of the 3 recorded delivery letters i have sent to Renault Finance (now RCi). What should i do - The tax runs out tomorrow and i am not getting more just to return it!

    Re: renualt finance

las,  I dont understand HP - but re-read the posts below.  They are saying that once you reach halfway, you can just hand the car back and terminate the agreement - no questions - no additional payments.

    Re: renualt finance

Then you should have paid half of the total amont payable on the agreement and be in a position to just hand the car back (in a reasonable condition) to the finance company....

    Re: renualt finance

    Las,

If it's hire purchase and not personal loan terms, you have a right to end the agreement. The finance company is entitled to the return of the goods providing resonable car has been taken of them and half of the total amount payable.

You can call the finance company and ask them how much is left to pay before you can exercise your right to the voluntary termination if you can't find your docs. You can pay this in one lump sum or keep the car till you've paid enough on your instalments to reach the 'halfway point'.

    Hope this helps

    Re: renualt finance

Hi, my car was on finance with Renault, and they sent through some pretty comprehensive documentation with it. Could you lay your hands on this at all? Don't have mine to look at for you I'm afraid.
