    Renting vs Buying

    Hi there,
We are a couple reaching retirement age. I am 61 and my wife is nearing 60. We live in a house currently valued at circa £300k. Of this we owe £60k on a mortgage. My question is, with good investment we could sell the house, pay off what we owe and live comfortably for the next 25 years, in rented accommodation, is this a wise decision? Just to enhance our situation, we have endowment policies of circa £25k that mature next year. Your comments would be appreciated.

You definitely need to get some good advice and I would suggest seeking an IFA who is recommended by word-of-mouth. and you needn't necessarily rent but maybe just downsize.......

Find a good advisor, definitely, and check references too.
