    Re: Renewing car insurance

    Hi Jangra,

In all honesty, it wouldn't suprise me if she got it cheaper than you - even WITH your NCD!!

Your wife can easily be awarded with introductory no claims bonus by most insurers, as she has been a named driver on your vehicles with no accidents or convictions.

You are right. It would be advantageous to transfer the second car to her name. She will benefit from cheaper car insurance as a female anyway; but with her unblemished record and a decent insurer giving her NCD, it will be cheap enough and can only get cheaper with added years NCD!

    Good luck.

    Renewing car insurance

Hi, I am about to renew car insurance on the second of two cars I own. My wife is the named driver on both. Whereas she has an unblemished driving record, I have two speeding offences. I have accumulated several years of no claims. She has never been insured for a car. Might it be advantageous to transfer the second car to her name so that she might benefit from her better record, or would her lack of history of car insurance offset or negate any advantage? Many thanks
