Re: refused help by SEAT Finance

after 4 years you may well have rights under 1/2s and 1/3s to hand the car back... have you paid 1/2 the total amount payable including all fees and interest??? if so ask for a voluntary hand back....

I guess this will leave you without a car... otherwise refinance the balance... will give you 1 months grace...

    Cheers

You are expected to stick to whatever the agreement says. The finance company may give permission for you to sell the vehicle and use the proceeds towards paying off anything that is still outstanding.

    refused help by SEAT Finance

Hi wondered if you could give me advice. My fiance has just been made redundant and we are both struggling to make our loan and mortgage payments. He has a car with SEAT Finance which he has been paying for 4 years which has always been paid on time. He phoned them three weeks before next payment is due to come out his account and explained the situation. He asked if he could have a repayment holiday or to add another month onto his car loan term. The advisor on the phone refused point blank to help and said there was nothing they could do to help. We are worried that we will not be able to afford all the debt we are in especially since I am going to be out of work as I am a teacher and there are no jobs even though they are still advertising for more teachers here in Scotland. It is a joke and the government and councils are a total farce. Anyway back to the point of the SEAT is there any way he can complain to financial ombudsman about this situation?

    Thanks
