reconnect landline - another person, lol!

    Hi,

i know a lot of people have already asked about this but i need some advice that is tailored to me :-)

we had a landline - last provider was whoever david hasselhoff did some ads for, cant remember their name - but we felt we couldnt afford the line rental and so we ended up cancelling the line.

as far as im aware this means our phone line is dead and we will need to reconnect.

we still dont have a lot of money so couldnt afford bt's prices.

is there anyone that will do it cheaper? i only want it so i can get broadband. our mobile broadband signal isnt strong enough where we live.

    anyone got any ideas?

Madasafish do it for £49.99 but you might be able to get it done for free from BT if you sign up to a minimum number of phone calls over a certain period - not sure of the link but someone else will remember I'm sure.

    Hi

As ttlady suggests BT were offering a free connection deal. This ended at the end of September, but you could ask.

The offer of free connection was for an 18 month contract plus various other Ts & Cs.

Call 0800 800 150 and ask http://www.serviceview.bt.com/list/public/current/Notice09_boo/2-FrameworkImpl337855.htm for New Line Fee Connection Offer. If the first operator knows nothing about it hang up and try again.

This offer was not widely publicised, as you would expect. If they want your business, challenge them to make an offer, that will help you make a decision to move to them.
