    Re: RECLAIMING BANK CHARGES

    No problem,

be aware the bank will almost certainly refuse to refund the money at first. Don't worry about this. It is just a ploy to try and put you off claiming. Just keep following the advice given on the site and I'm sure they will eventually give in. As far as I'm aware not one bank has challenged any claim at court and they are very unlikely to.

    Re: RECLAIMING BANK CHARGES

    Lezbos,

I recently claimed back several hundred pounds from my bank. I followed advice from www.moneysavingexpert.com and found this most useful. They provide pre-written letters so you just need to fill in the blanks for your own details. It took me around 2 months from the date of my first letter to receive the money back.

    Good Luck,

    Jason

    Re: RECLAIMING BANK CHARGES

Thank youn. On the ones that I have pursued to date, (all successes) the individuals did sign off their respective letters. However, I am testing the waters in consideration of my wife starting up a small business chasing bank charges for a minimal fee (not the excessive 25% fees that the companies out there are charging). Therefore she wants to be able to pursue a case from start to finish on her siganture, hence my origianl question.

    Re: RECLAIMING BANK CHARGES

Ummm, tricky. Banks obviously need to be careful about customer details so I am not surprised that they are unwilling to engage with you. Banks will have fastidious policies with regard to customer details and I think that is correct and appropriate given the potential for fraudulent transactions. I suspect that you cannot force them to deal with you. Writing a letter may be sufficient to get a satisfactory response. Couldn't you write the letter but get your friend to sign it and send it?

    RECLAIMING BANK CHARGES

Having just succesfully reclaimed in excess of £3000 for my 2 sons, I have been asked to assist a friend. He wrote to his bank authorising me to act on his behalf yet the bank won't deal with me. Do they have to if their client has instructed them to. If the answer is yes what can be done to force them.

    Thanks
