    Re: reclaim2gain

    SCAM!

Unfortunatly I was stupid enough to believe, I am now in the process of letting EVERYBODY WHO DOESNT KNOW, KNOW!

    -----------

    From www.claimsregulation.gov.uk : :

Thank you for your email. Please be advised that Reclaim 2 Gain is not authorised to provide claims management services and is therefore trading illegally. As such, it is not obliged to comply with our rules and regulations. I will pass on your information to our unauthorised team in order to undertake enforcement action. As far as your individual complaint is concerned, I suggest you contact your bank and inform them that an unauthorised payment has come off your account.

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

For your information, the managing director of Reclaim 2 Gain is Dee Anne Horn. Actully Reclaim 2 Gain is not authorrized to do any business at all. If you would like to report them to authorities, please go The Ministry of Justice website where you can report Reclaim 2 Gian doing business ilegally.

I also fund an article about Reclaim 2 Gain from Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2007/dec/02/cash1 I can see some similarity to my own experience.

I did return their package and wrote several letters to require refund but I still have not had the refund.

I think Small Claims Court is my only hope!

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

Well, I am not going to give up.

I called the police and they asked me first to contact Reclaim2gain and try to get my money back myself. If they don't return it, then I should contact Trade Standards.

Well I did everything right: returned their papers with the refund request letter whithin 7 days after receiving their contract.

Now I have to wait 30 days to have the refund. If I don't receive it, I will contact the TS. And I will take this case to Small Claims Court if necessary, but I won't leave those idiots in peace anymore.

Never give up please! Good luck!

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

    Dear Punisher,

No, I have not had my money back. I also reported them to The Ministry of Justice which is the regulating body for companies providing claiming service. But I still have not have any refund. I am very disappointed with the authorities.

I also think to take small claims court action to claim the money back. This is my last hope.

If you search " who calls me" website you can find that a lot people has been hastled by Reclaim 2 Gain. A few of them actually had their money taken from their bank and can't have the money back.

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

    Dear Lilyheart,

I had exactly the same problem with Reclaim2Gain. Natwest told me to call the police and trade standards which I did. I also returned their contract and requested refund, but nothing happened. And my case was worst 'cause they took £99,98 from my debit account. Did you manage to have your money back? If so, please let me know how.

Your case was in January, mine in Aug, when the authorities are going to stop them doing that!!?

    Kind Regards,

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

    Hi Sheiisangel,

Anyone who makes a claim that they can get you into court by X no. of months is lying. If they have done proper legal work, they have to prepare case, write letters of action which are not properly answered by lenders, then this should go to solicitors or barristers for opinion, and then a claim would be issued (based on solicitors or barristers review of % chances of success in court).

Always check that a co. is registered or approved by FSA and MOJ before passing over money or giving personal details!

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

I returned a call from these people on 01204545440. They said they were Claim 4 Gain. I had never heard of them but they knew my name when I called, so I guess they have a way to link my mobile number to their system. They told me that if I had a credit card or loan, they could arrange to have it repaid within 4 months by going to court for me. I thought it was all a little strange and it looks like these people have a lot of details about me, which is quite scary.

They told me that if I wanted to get my loan repaid, it would cost £249 and another £159 for the insurance on the loan. The lady I spoke to blurted out a lot of things to me, including their address and contact number, the registration number of their company and so on... I listened to her as I was curious but did not believe her. It didn't take long for her to want to pass me onto her manager for him to take a payment. I told her that I would like to do some research on her company first so she suggested she calls me back. I told her not to bother and that I had their numbers if I was still interested. I have checked their website, which she gave me (she actually instructed me exactly what the website was and what to Google). The website had all the 'legal' information which she provided me on the first page, which is rather unusual. The website looks completely amateur. Looks like I was right not to give them anymore details and mostly not my card payment! :)

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

    Hi folks,

I'm a Bank Official (due to legalities, I cannot say what bank I am from) but I can confirm with you all that this is a scam. If you have any queries regarding Bank Charges, you must approach your bank to resolve these issues. "Bodies" such as BankingAdviceBureau.com and Reclaims2Gain are complete scanners. Please do not give out your details, and if you do receive a call from your "bank" and they ask you to confirm your card number, never give it out over the phone as we do have access to this information.

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

Yes it was the abbey national. I went into the bank and they gave me a number to ring. When I rang they sent me a paper to fill in and sign. A few weeks later they refunded the money back to my account.

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

Mumbly, thank you very much for the reply. I realized things went wrong only 2 hours after the phone call. I cancled my card but they did the transasion before the card being cancled. I told NatWest twice about what has happened. But the bank said this is a telephone scam. they can't treat it as a fraud case even if I was tricked. The bank sugested me to ask Relcaim to Gain to return the money. The bank also sugested me to report to the police. I also did some search, it seems on a visa debit card the money could be give back. But my card is a debit card. Can you tell me which bank helped to recover you money? I checked another website"who calls me". People have been reporting the scam call on the number 01253755781 for at least 8 months. I just want to find out if there is any way to get the money back.

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

Go to your bank and tell them what has happened. They will investigate and give you the money back. I cancelled my card so they couldn't take any more out and the bank sorted it out for me. Do not keep quiet about it, that is how they are duping people. The same happened to me only I tore their brochure up as it is useless.

    Re: Reclaim to Gain

I had cold call from 01253755781 last Wednesday. The lady said they are reclaim to gain and aksed if I have any bank overdraft charges in the last six years and on which debit card is for the account. She said the bank is going to refund the money to my card but need to confirm my debit card details. She can tell the first 4 digits of my card, I believed she was from my bank and disclosed my card details. £49.99 was taken from my account 2 days later. I also received a pack from them but the invoice is from another company called Claim 4 Gain. Reclaim 2 Gain was banned by the Ministry of Justice. I returned their pack and write to them for the refund. But I don't think they will refund me otherwise they would not trick people using dogy calls in the first place.

    Re: RE:BANKING ADVICE BUREAU.COM

In a panic I have just contacted telephone banking and had my card cancelled. When the transaction goes through on Tuesday I have to put a query on it at the bank. I will never give my details in this fashion again.

    Re: RE:BANKING ADVICE BUREAU.COM

I too was cold called today at work. i phoned them back because I was waiting for a delivery and thought it might have been them. I spoke to someone called Julie Kershaw on 01253755781. I was talked into giving my card details and handing over £49.00 for a pack which they said would arrive shortly. I told them I had already applied through money saving expert.com last year and was told that the banks may win in January but by going through them the money would be in my bank account in 5 or 6 weeks. They sounded convincing, but something had me worried and rang back and spoke to someone called Becky who asked if I had been through their legal department assured me it was genuine and gave me another number which was 01253755782. I don't know what to do when the pack arrives now

    Re: RE:BANKING ADVICE BUREAU.COM

    Hi NoBull,

Bit of an old thread, but I picked up on your interest in where call centre firms get their numbers. I once provided some IT consulting at a call centre company which turned out to be run by a bunch of charlatans. It gave me a very good insight into how these companies operate. Many of them are outbound call centres that sell their telemarketing capacity to the highest bidder. One week they will be phoning you to "come back to Scottish Power", the next to "switch to Talk/Talk". It is standard practice to be provided with customer or "recent leaver" data by the client company when undertaking one of these campaigns. This is completely above board and done in line with the Data Protection Act. The telemarketing company will also agree to prescreen the list given by Talk Talk/Scottish Power against the Telephone Preference System list (the "don't call me" list). For these campaigns they almost always comply.

Most of these call centres also have little internal businesses (particulalry in IVA's bankruptcy services, sub-prime loans and other "financial service" products for not very well off people), or deals with dodgy companies that provide this. The nasty thing is that they routinely keep a copy of the reputable company data, sit on it for a few months and then use it for their own in-house campaigns, and this time they do not screen it against TPS. This is of course a contravention of the DPA, but these charlatans know they are rarely caught. Besides which, the second modus operandi of these guys is to habitually change the name of their limited companies (free to do at Companies House), and also to put themselves into voluntary liquidation every now and again. They then sell off the assets of the company to their new company, and leave the creditors, employees and clients up the swanee.

I have personlly watched telephony agents phone out offering IVA's and other similar services on data that had been provided for completely different reasons. Data of this nature came from a number of high street banks, catalogue shopping companies and a number of mobile telephone providers, who were never aware of the illegal use of their customer records. There is even a second hand market in data sticks with tens of thousands of customer records on them. Going rate at the time was about 10p-12p per custome record if unprofiled, perhaps twice that amount if profiled.

I occassionally read through the messages here, and note with sadness how niaive people are about these things. Poverty and debt breeds desperation, and these rogues play on that. TPS, trading standards, even the FSA do not care about this - I know, I have in the past passed details to all of those bodies and their responses were laughable.
