I have just moved from ireland and I am wondering which bank is viewed as the best bank to deal with in terms of ease of use over the phone and internet, which has the best charges and how easy it is to transfer from my bank of ireland ac to a UK account.

Do I need a letter with my new address on it etc in order to open an account here. I am based in London and work in Canary Wharf, so i would need a branch near here possibly.

I also need to transfer my credit card and would like info on this if possible.
