    Good advice Maxstream, keep ringing round and fingers crossed you'll get someone in the call centre that will actually be able to help. Poss try branch as well?

    Try phoning a few numbers and, if you get nowhere, send a recorded delivery letter stating that you intend to stop the payments unless you receive further information about the status of the debt.

    I have been paying £15.00 per month to RBS Bradford through a standing order for what seem forever and a day. The thing is, the debt is so old I don't know what it is for anymore and can't lay my hands on any paperwork regarding it!

    I would like to contact them to get a settlement balance, but have no idea who to contact. Am just wondering if I should try ringing RBS Bank (assuming this is something to do with them) and try and get a phone number or cancel the standing order and wait for them to contact me. The latter worries me as they might default the account. But how do I know the account isn't already paid and I've just continued paying £15.00 per month?

    Any suggestions please.
