    Hello,

    I can tell you that;

    1. The iPhone release date is June the second. Wherever you will be able to buy it straight away that is another matter.
that is all that can be said in this forum.

    Hi KingCarl,

It was the staff at an O2 shop in Birmingham. They told my girlfriend, in early March, that if she was willing, it would be worthwhile waiting a few more weeks until the new model was released............as with all women though, it was a case of wanting it there and then so she took out the contract.

    Re: "New" Apple iPhone.........?

I have done some recearch and found out that an apple source had said the new model will be released "within 60 days".

Also T-Mobile, who holds rights for the iphone in germany, have slashed the price on a 8GB to 99euro(£80) which also suggests they are trying to shift current stock. Appartently the only change to the new iphone is that it's slightly slimmer.

my advice would be to hold tight and wait wither for the new model or get the current one cheaper

    Re: "New" Apple iPhone.........?

    Hi Rob,

Thanks for your information regarding the iPhone, I had a quick browse but haven't really been able to find any information regarding the new model that's apparently around the corner.

It's all very secretive, which leaves me in two minds as to whether or not to splash out on the model O2 are currently flogging or wait for the 3G model. I'll be gutted if they release another model within 2-3 months of me getting the one currently in stores.

Can I ask, are you aware of whether or not Apple will be changing the handset design? Because I'm quite fond of the current one.

    Cheers

    Re: "New" Apple iPhone.........?

Thanks for your answers guys, they are much appreciated.

I understand your point regarding the 3G capabilities and improved handset. This will be much faster but as my girlfriend will be travelling to Australia later this year, God knows if she'll be able to afford to use it overseas. You know what women are like............see it, hold it, got to have it!!

It also raises questions as to why O2 are being so secretive about it's launch, surely it would be within their best interests to market this effectively. Especially as they hold exclusive rights!! Or is this set to change?

    Re: "New" Apple iPhone.........?

wait for the 3g version - 2g is very slow and wastes the unlimited data bundle offered as part of the package - you will get so frustrated trying to access internet over 2g that you wont bother. Maybe the new phone will also have a better camera as the current 2meg one is rubbish!

I am not sure when the new handset launches though - o2 are being very secretive about it...

    Re: "New" Apple iPhone.........?

Yes..its true that Apple is about to launch the next version of iPhone with 3G features.

But the fact is no one knows when..probably in the next 60 days ..thats what the reports tell..

Its seriously worth the wait...the new iPhone would be coooool...also the old iPhone might drop price

    "New" Apple iPhone.........?

Hopefully someone out there can advise me.

My girlfriend has an 8Gb iPhone and, when she opened her contract, she was asked whether she wanted to "wait until April" as a new model was due to hit the market and this would not only be a better handset but that the launch of this would reduce the cost of the "old" 8Gb and 16Gb units considerably.

My question is this..........is this true? Will we be able to get lower priced iPhones on the assumption that an upgraded model will be made available?

    Thank you kind people.
