think outside the box my point is it does not matter which you change to but that if we all went with one supplier

The point is that I probably wouldn't want to go with the same supplier as you. Different people have different preferences. My feeling is that all suppliers are pretty much as bad as each other and certainly none of them are good enough to deserve "everyone's" custom. I'm sure that British Gas will say otherwise though!

There used to be reasonable consumer safeguards when Energy Watch was around but those safeguareds have beeen cut back so much so that the suppliers often now feel that they are above the law and can do as they wish with individual customers.

think outside the box my point is it does not matter which you change to but that if we all went with one supplier the rest would have to offer better rates to get us back we would the control the market at the moment because of peoples appathy the market is laughing at us they know the public is lazy and want a easy time thats why we have to take control after all its a market is it not i have always got cheap rates by watching the market it is a easy guess that as they start to put prices up you need to fix at the lower fixed rates because you can bet when they have all put up their prices they then up fixed rates at the same time so as soon as the first company puts up its rates thats when to fix and fast to add to my point after the meetin with cameron all they could say is you are on your own and its your fault you dont get the best deal thats your goverment for you

if many customers changed to one supplier then the others would have to offer reduced prices to win them back this is market economics it is a cartel but the way to beat them is to play one aganist the other its the oldest game in town this is why when you transfer anything the new buissness is always discounted be it insurance banking or anything this is why politicens say the market works it is just that many of the public dont play it you never pay thefull price the public need to educated in this there are many sites like this one to do that but how many do??????????????????/

... then the suppliers wont make as much money. There would need to be a very significant advantage to customers for lots to switch.

At the moment, they all charge much the same. The differences are just alternative mixes of standing charges, two-tier pricing, bonuses, marketing, etc. but there isn't any significant difference in price. One supplier puts their price up and they all follow suit. My view is that it's more of a cartel than an open market.
