It appears to demand a 6 digit number for the amount to transfer and my card reader doesn't have a "." so how do I input a 4 digit amount ?

On mine you just put in an extra couple of zeros (or whatever the pence amount) and the reader puts a "." on the display before the last two digits. I hope that helps.

I have also been unable to use their secure messaging system - it's down !!

So have sent a complaint email

    WHY CAN'T THEY LEAVE WHAT'S WORKING - ALONE ?

I agree. Web sites are often run by techies who see anything more than 6 months old as outdated.

The new format seems to need more clicks to do the same thing but, as with the old format, I found that, as long as I complete transactions within a few minutes of logging in, I don't need to use the card reader again. I've only used the new format once though, this morning, for a couple of payments.

    Problems with Nationwide

I have been with Nationwide for about 10 years and have never had any problems before

They have, this morning, changed their on-line banking website

It requires constant use of the card reader to do absolutely anything on line

Plus - the site will not accept my request to transfer a relatively small amount to a rival bank

To make matters worse - I was logged out automatically after 5 minutes - mid operation and when I tried to log back in again - I was greeted with a big "sorry site temporarily unable to log you in" message

    WHY CAN'T THEY LEAVE WHAT'S WORKING - ALONE ?
