UK Insurance are the biggest insurer in the UK. Tesco just use their name to sell policies underwritten by UK Insurance.

In regards to your claim if you're a reversing party your going to be found at least partly at fault. You're both to blame because you've both reversed into each other! SImple as that.

Re: Problems with Admiral Group (Bell / Diamond)

I had an accident in a car park at the w/e.I was reversing to allow a car to come around me.A car on the other side of the road must have started to reverse at the same time.We didnt go 6ft between us.However he didnt reverse in a straight line but at an angle to my car thus hitting my rear offside panel. So in effect he ran into the side of me.Reported it to my insurance(Tesco) cos the guy blamed me.Im not claiming because the damage doesnt warrant it.
Even though neither of us have made a claim yet Tesco phoned me but I was busy.I did 1471 and redialled and the answered "hello Direct Line" which happens to be the other guys company. The said because we were both reversing it will go down as 50-50.
Hows that he ran into me.I rand RAC accident care and the confirmed this would be correct.Mind you they do insurance. They all stick together and in this case two people lose their no claims.
Tesco.com.Churchill,Direct Line and others are all the same company working out of the same offices. What chance have we

I do side with the insurer yes. I used to work in a call centre for direct line and everyone is money mad rather than bothering what the cover is that they are paying for. Not only that but you guys cant seem to get it into your head that when you get your renewal papers, your wasting valuable resources by calling the insurer to ask what their best price is............the price is on the documents!!!!!!!! thats what infuriates me!!!!! Makes customers look cheap, especially when they cancel over £10 cheaper elsewhere and have no idea what cover they have!!!!

You seem to be a serial poster on here.

Judging by your previous post you tend to side the Insurer over the consumer. This forum is here for the consumer to discuss insurance maters e.g. deciding which insurer to go with and not about choosing the cheapest quote etc. After sales service is just as important, that's why I put this post on here.

    End of....

Re: Problems with Admiral Group (Bell / Diamond)

There was no previous damage and its a second car not being used everyday mainly at weekends. I am particular about body work on my car and a big dent in the bumper you would hardly miss.

    Fact:
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assessors cannot determine if the damage was there before or after an accident as they have no evidence only their opinion. Its down to the assessors own opinion of the damage, much the same as an MOT tester in a garage when your car is due for one e.g. if your car has failed an MOT test then upon retest your car is assessed by a different MOT tester, he/she could find something else wrong with your car and fail it a second time.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the end of the day, an insurer is their to pay out over damaged caused to a vehicle, that's why people take out insurance to cover themselves against accidents and injury. I am now left with a damaged car, no fault of my own and the insurance company will not fix my car due their own assessors opinion of the accident. They have not consulted the witness who is more important than Bells own assessor.

I am not focused on money to repair the car and I have not put an injury claim (KARMA), not sure where you got the last statement from. This is to do with cancelling the repairs that need to be done on my car due to an assessors own opinion about the damage after the accident has occured. All the assessors evidence is circumstantial and based on after the accident has happend therefore, would not stand up in a small claims court.

At the minute it looks like I have to pay for the repairs myself, seeing that Bell are trying to make up a get out clause not to repair it.

I just want my car fixed so its back to the way it was so I shouldn't have to battle an insurance company over this. This is a principle thing and I will battle the insurance company all the way.

Re: Problems with Admiral Group (Bell / Diamond)

It sounds like you previously had damage to your car and you did not 'notice' it.

Assessors are very good at judging, its their job, and if 2 assessors told you this then maybe its something you have been mistaken about. Yes you.

At the end of the day, an insurer pays out £££'s in a claim, your kinda lucky you dont have to pay for the repairs yourself so I would think myself lucky rather than being focused on the money side of things, like every other typical consumer.

Problems with Admiral Group (Bell / Diamond)

    Hi,

I thought it would be appropriate to make people aware of problems that can arise when claiming on your insurance.

I was involved in an accident in a local supermarket car park, a lady in her (Renault Clio) backed into my pride and joy (Honda Integra Type-R). To say the least I was mortified at the damage to my car and how little damage there was to the Clio. A by stander (witness) saw the incident claiming she was negligent e.g. the lady did not look and reversed her car into mine. The lady gave me her details of the insurer (Diamond part of Admiral Group) and the witness gave me contact details etc.

I was instructed by my insurer (Bell) who are also part of the Admiral Group to obtain two quotes from respected repairers for the damage. I Sent the two quotes off and a report sheet explaining what the damage was and how it occured with a supporting diagram. Then I recieved a letter from Bell instructing me to book the car in for repair using (Two Mills Honda). They also faxed a copy of this letter to Two Mills Honda instructing them to carry out the work and order parts.

In the mean time my insurer instructed an Independant Engineering Assessors (paid by my insurer Bell) to view the damage to both cars. The assessor determined both cars had identical marks to the bumper but claiming the damage to the Integra could not have been caused by the Clio reversing into mine. Bell contacted Two Mills Honda instucting them to cancel the repairs to my vehicle (Honda Integra Type-R). The Service Manager phoned me explaining that they had canceled the job, later saying that he had already ordered the parts costing £700 and someone would have to pay the handling charge to Honda.

It seems like my insurance compay is questioning the integrity of me and damage caused to my car, without consulting the witness who saw the accident. They are reluctant to pay out over the fact my car was stationary and I was hit by another car causing damage to mine. It gives the impression Bell are trying to wriggle out of paying for the damage and using the Assessors report as a get-out clause.

Bell are very unprofessional in there approach to this claim and I advise you all to do some research and ask on this forum if anyone has had any dificulty claiming on certain insurers.

I hope Admiral Group can redeem themselves!

P.S. Keep up the good work InsureSupermarket.com.

    Regards,

    DRM
