    PROBLEM WITH SKY BROADBAND

I CHANGED FROM AOL TO SKY AT FIRST WAS OK BUT THEN POOR CONNECTION, POT LUCK WEATHER IT WORKED OR NOT ,ON LINE HELP IS NO GOOD AND IS JUST AN MACHINE SERVICE SO YOU DONT GET ANY REAL ANSWERS,AS I WAS WITH SKY PHONE AS WELL WHEN YOU  PHONE THEY KEEP YOU ON THE LINE AS LONG AS POSSIBLE , GETTING YOU TO DO THIS THAT AND OTHER TO YOUR COMPUTER  20 MIN HAS PASSED ON PHONE AT A HIGH RATE, THEN THEY SAY ITS THERE FAULT ,THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I SENT ON THE PHONE CALL COST ME MORE THAN WHAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IF I HAD STAYED WITH AOL, SO NOW WAITING TO CHANGE BACK,  AND MAY BE I CAN GO ON LINE WHEN I CHOOSE , AND NOT CHARGED FOR THERE PROBLEMS   NEVER NEVER AGAIN,   DONT DO IT

    Re: PROBLEM WITH SKY BROADBAND

I have Sky BB and have had cause to speak to thier Tecnical helpline, the problem seems to be that they have 3 tiers of operators, the 1st is the basic, "Are you sure its plugged in/connected properly",  when that doesn't work you go through to the 2nd tier who ask a few more technical questions, if they still can't help you you go up a level to Tier 3, who are never available but they do call you back, eventually.  it's frustrating I agree.  However they did solve my query and I've had no need to call them again.

The connection depends on the time of day in my area early evenings and weekends it can be quite slow, think it depends on how many people are connected at your exchange.

I did use the say no to 0870 website to get an 01 number and it cost me the price of a normal call, rang after 6pm so actually cost me nothing.

I was with AOL before and have to say I would never go back, find an alternative yes but back to AOL never.....

I should mention that views are my own and I'm speaking from my own experiences!

    Re: PROBLEM WITH SKY BROADBAND

The above layout of Sky's Technical Helpline is no longer true, Tier 1 is still there, who will take you through the setup of the PC/MAC including Internet Options, Wireless Connection, TCP/IP setup etc. Tier 2 (who used to deal with Connect customers) and Tier 3, have now been joined to make the Customer Solutions Team, who will deal with escalated issues.

    Re: PROBLEM WITH SKY BROADBAND

We also have alot of problems with ours. Sometimes it wont connect at all, then when it does, it is really slow.

Called them the other day as couldn't connect, but their systems were down, so was asked to call back the next day. Did not get a chance the next day so did the following day...still having system problems!! Eventually fixed the cause ourselves after having no Broadband for over 5 days....!!

Is there a way we can get a refund for this??
