Hi, thanks for the quick response.Basically whats happened was I have helped my friend 4 years ago to get a mob. on a contract (I was as a guarantor) but now they are saying that my name is on the contract and I owe the money.

I have called o2 and they have told me that I do owe this money but they have sold the dept to Lowell. But yes I have never been contacted by o2 about this dept despite Im with them over 5 years so they can always find me. Its my mob. contract and internet contract with them as well !?

Is this legal someone to buy someones dept (without asking them) and then demand for the money. I am waiting for o2 and this Lowell to send me profs that I owe the dept (printed bills) which they have said they have and will send out. Would you advice me to pay this or what to do please.

Hi You should send a complaint letter by recorded delivery to O2's Head office, asking them to look into this matter. They need to explain the outstanding balance on the old account and why they have not been in contact. If you owe money, they should have sent you an account statement. You cannot be expected to pay something for which you have not been given the details. I would also suggest that you send Lowell a copy of your letter to O2, advising that you have entered into a complaint with 02 and will not be responding to them until 02 have replied. If you look at other posts on this site, all the phone companies appear to be doing this. Obviously 02 have an entry on an account report, which indicates that you owe them money. Rather than chase you, they have just sent Lowell a list of many people that they think owe them money. This is why you need to take this up with 02. Huckster

Hi I have a problem with these people.

I have received a letter from them asking me to pay £105.09 as an outstanding balance for an "o2" bill from a contract that I had back in 11/03/2006. I went in o2 and checked with them and they are saying that I do realy owe them the money but why no one has ever contacted me since 2006. I am still with o2 on contract and I am paying by DD so how come the didnt colect the money!?!?!?

Can someone help me with advice what to do please?
