    Re: Previous Insurance Claims

Hi -- You need to declare them to your new insurer if they are within the period asked which is usually the last Five years, you will be given the opportunity to declare them accordingly as at fault where it has cost your insurer to settle the claim, or none fault if the other insurer pays up in full on the latter claim.

The Two criminal damage are classed as at fault because your insurer has had to stand the cost, the latter is at fault also until decided who was at fault and the interim period before the other insurer agrees to settle in full. !

    Previous Insurance Claims

    Hi

I've had three insurance claims through my companies car insurance and want to know how this is likely to affect me if I was trying to get personal car insurance. Would anybody be able to advise?

    The three claims were:
    - Car was scraped in a car park while unattended so had to have bodywork repair
    - Someone (kids) jumped on the bonnet while it was parked in my street so this had to be repaired
    - Last week someone drove into me on a round about knocking out my steering and more bodywork damage. Although this was categorically not my fault I think the other driver is not accepting liability and with no independent witness I guess this will end up being a split cost (this case is still not resolved)

As you can see I've effectively got two cases of criminal damage and one accident (my first ever) that was not my fault!

As I am about not to have a company car I am worried about the effect of this on any personal car insurance i take out. I presume that I do need to declare these even though the claims are via a company policy?

I'd be grateful for anyone that knows a bit more to advise.

    Cheers
