    Re: Power Supplier Cashback

I am beginning to suspect that suppliers are commonly refusing to take applications from internet switching companies because they know they are going to have to pay out. If they stop the transaction and get you to move to them a different way they can claim you 'went direct' and refuse to pay anything.

Some people may consider that fraudulent or at the very least dishonourable. I think it shows that in this case Powergen has evaded the payment even though it KNOWS it obtained you through the switching service. Shame on Powergen.

Check your deals again and switch from them before they try and lock everyone in. Oh boy do I wait with baited breath to see the complaints rise when people are restricted from moving suppliers. Now doubt we will end up with certain dates you can move and somehow their computer systems didn't process it quickly enough to allow you to move and 'oh, you'll have to wait another year before you can'. See my story about EDF saying it will take a year for my supply details to be updated with Transco. Atlantic seem the best so far.

    Re: Power Supplier Cashback

    Stephen,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The reason why Powergen did not process your application is because a product code error was detected and therefore failed to pass through their application process. By the time Powergen had informed us of this error you had contacted the provider and completed your application directly.

Powergen therefore saw your acquistion as direct rather than one through moneysupermarket.com. For this reason a cashback payment was not possible.

I understand your upset and can only apologise on behalf of moneysupermarket.com for any inconvenience caused.

    Re: Power Supplier Cashback

I am having the same problem.  I have just received an e-mail from you stating I have to resign with POWERGEN AGAIN and input my MPRN and electricity supplier number. Powergen transfer gone ok but the MOneysupermarket bit seems flawed.

Stephen thank you for your email. I do not understand why Powergen failed to action the application that they received from Moneysupermarket and we are investigating this point with the supplier. I will respond in more detail as soon as possible

    No [N] Power Supplier Cashback

I, up to now, was on Moneysupermarkets postings. I read about a cashback offer if I transfered my power supplier thru them.

I did so , to Powergen, and received a confirmation email from Money supermarket. Then nothing from Powergen. I queried this with Powergen who said they received my application but did not action it. I then asked them to process it which they did. Unfortunately this contravened Moneysupermarkets requirements as they now advise they will not honour the cashback.

Moral of story always presume that if you do not abide by any companies small print, even those that champion the consumer you will lose your entitlement.
