Get the car repaired on your own insurance, and let the insurers decide if it is worth pursuing the AA for.

Hi guys-need some advice-i was travelling on the motorway and got lost so pulled into the services to ask for directions, i approached an AA man who told me to follow him through the service gates that would take me to the opposite side of the motorway-as he drove through he put his card into the slot and the post dissapeared in2 the ground-as i drove through u can guess wot happened-yes the post came up underneath my car-he had not told me to wait but to follow him through as i did-there was a loud noise underneath my car and my dad got out and so did the AA man to look at the damage-at the time it seemed that the front rubber grill had got caught in the post-which they both pushed back on2 the car. The AA man drove away and as i drove away i noticed a loud noise which we assumed was the exhaust, i have since taken my car for an inspection and there is numerous damage underneath to the extent where i have had to contact my insurers. I have written to the AA and sent photos of the underside of my car-what should i do next? I didnt take the details of the AA vehicle at the time because i didnt realise the damage that had been caused-i am very stressed over the whole incident!
