    Re: Please Help,Derogatory Status Advice....

Hiya, thank you for responding to me.

I have just about gone round the twist today with these people. I asked for them to direct me to the statement within the Terms and Conditions which highlights that this is the appropriate course of action, they informed me that it states "We may share information with Credit Reference Agency`s if an account is being miss-used", I would fully accept this if we had indeed miss-used our account, however, we had just taken a joint loan with them to cosolidate our separate loans and due to the activity on the account with money going out left, right and centre, paying off loans etc, the cheque that was produced for a mere £477.00 comared to everything else that was being paid out, fell short by around £40.00. They can see from our history that it was an unfortunate incident and other funds were due to clear in the account within a day or so.

I feel that this has something to do with us having reclaimed unfair bank charges from 6 years ago.

I have spent hours trying to resolve this and the head ache now is that I have have been left with no alternative other than to close all of our accounts and I have just transfered funds from our ISA`s, the children will be emptying their accounts today and we have removed a large lump sum from our account leaving only enough to cover our outgoings until we have set up accounts else where.

I`m sure that if this practice applied to everyone, there wouldnt be a single person in the Country with good credit.

My head is exploding, but I want to thank you for trying to help.

Many thanks and kindest regards, Dawn.

Hi Dawn,  the customer service does indeed seem appaling.  However I'm willing to bet if you phoned the Customer Service department and demanded that someone call you back within the hour about this issue or you will close your accounts, somebody will call.  You don't have to actually close them,  just threaten to...

Alternatively go to your branch and stand there till someone sorts it out for you.

    Please Help,Derogatory Status Advice....

Hi there, I am a member of a credit reference agency and receive alerts to notify me of any activity. I have just discovered that my bank has registered arrears against me relating to my joint current account. This is completely false, and this is the second time they have given me a derogatory status without any cause. The first time it occured the credit agency acted on my behalf and due to no contact from the bank they removed all details of the account from my record. I cannot contact the credit department of my bank as I cannot get a number and they dont allow customer services to transfer my call to them, they dont call me when they say they will in order to resolve the matter. They are quick enough to speak to us when they are offering us a loan or any other service. I am extremely frustrated and angry, we have 5 different accounts with this bank between isa`s, childrens accounts and a joint current account. We are currently in the process of buying a property and this will obviously affect out mortgage rate etc. Can anyone please advise me, I am very close to withdrawing all our cash and closing all accounts, but the stress and hasstle of doing so is far more than I need right now.                       Many Thanks ,, Dawn
