i have a debt of £1100 on my credit card and need to swap it because my interest free period is ending but i am unsure about the ins and outs of credit cards eg. fees etc.i just want to transfer the money and get interest free for an extended period so i can pay it off as an when i can afford it .all i want is to pay it off and never use again...

any idaes ?

Perhaps apply for the Egg card, currently 0% interest free on balance transfers until May 2010. (3% fee applies) - which means a one off fee of £33.00 added to the £1100 you transfer ...which you can then pay off before interest becomes due in over a years time.... May 2010.

If you do this..... do not make any further purchases on the Egg card until the balance transfer is cleared in full, also ensure you never miss making at least the minimum monthly repayment, otherwise you would fall into the interest trap. !
