How refreshing to see that I am not the only one who has been fobbed off by Pipex. Same problems everyone else is having (slow speeds, false promises, incorrect billing, long waits on the phone for customer 'service', e-mails unanswered) but I have even more issues with them. I never get to see my bills until days AFTER the money has been taken from my bank account. They don't advise you by e-mail or post and their control panel area is PERMANENTLY displaying a 'downtime' message for 'essential repairs'. Not being advised of payments due is ILLEGAL and I have reported the matter to OFCOM (who frankly have been pretty useless so far). Even worse, if I complain persistently, they slap an extra charge on my next bill for 'exceeding my usage allowance', which quite frankly is ludicrous, as I am a very light user with only a few e-mails and web browsing a day and the occasional music download by my daughter. They admitted charging me for 'excess usage' in error once when I told them in no uncertain term that I would sue them if they didn't refund, as I had proof that I was abroad for the entire 4 days during which time I was supposed to have used more than 2gb! THEY ARE A DISGRACE and now my 12 month contract is up I cannot wait to leave them. Let's see how long it takes them to give me a MAC code! Good luck to everyone else.
