Re: Pipex Homecall customers.....I'd like to help

I can share my experience as it may help, I tried to move to Pipex Homecall and ws supposed to go love on 22nd dec 2006, eventually after MANY phone calls they gave up trying 6 weeks later. The main issue was that PH provide Data stream, which is basically reselling Tiscali Broadband, who in turn resell BT services, so there are two many fingers in the pie to make this work.
I just kept ringing them everyday until the technical team agreed to terminate my contract without any penalty. Following this I sent a letter the the CEO Mike Reid detailing my problem, and I ended up with all my phone calls refunded, the cost of a pay as you go with Oranage refunded, and a credit worth a year of BB on my accouint (I am using their anytime phones package).

What you need to do is threaten them with reporting them to their overseeing body, Oftel and its amazing how they will back down.

I agree with the customer services, everyone has something different to say compared to the last person.

I managed to find a normal phone number that gets you through to their help line, so you dont have to use the 0870 number, I have mislaid it at the moment, but all I did was put the number in Google and someone who had been having problems found the numbers and posted them. I used them all the time, so didnt have to pay for any more 0870 calls, as I was on Pipex call package.

My advise is dont let them dictate the process, and get hold of a manager, Nick Abbots was very helpful for me. Also when you do manage to break free make sure that you get a BB supplier that offers IP stream. I was connected to BB within 1 week of obtaining my MAC code, so it can be done...

Re: Pipex Homecall customers.....I'd like to help

The main thing I'd like to know is why my ip address is registered to Tiscali. I'm supposed to be with pipex but ever since I downloaded too much one night Ive been stuck with Tiscali. Ive restricted everything on the computer to 20k/sec but tech support still say Im exceeding the FUP.
Ive just written off two letters to Pipex PLC and homecall, I doubt it'll do any good but I wanted to ask them the same question. Surely its a breach of contract to charge for Pipex and provide a Tiscali internet connection.

I know homecall used to resell tiscali, so its more to do with money making then my downloading isnt it?

Ive got nothing against the people who answer the phones but they are obviously trained to be deceptive. Every call is like jackanory story time I swear

    Hi Charliesangel,

I think the only way you can help us now is to tell us how to get out of this bloody contract - pardon my french. I have just called yet again and spoke to a gent who was extremely rude to me on the phone and eventually let me speak to a very busy manager who wasnt available this evening to take calls???
I am very cross and want rid ASAP.
