phones2udirect cashback claim
Last jan i took out a 12 month contract with this company as a casback offer. have sent in 2 claims to them (after month 6 and 9), both recorded delivery and both successfully delivered. It is impossible to speak to anyone on the phone about casback claims or complaints. you have to email or write. Emails get a reply (usually) after about a week just saying that my claim has been escalated and i will be contacted shortly (which never happens). i have written personally to the managing director (still no reply). I have written 2 letters of complaint (no reply). I have contacted my local trading standards who are trying to contact the company direct too. Help !! Where do i go next with this claim. They haven't said my claim is incorrect at all they just don't reply or pay out. I believe there is some breach of contract that they are making but don't know any more information about it. I also saw on the net that you can claim through the courts online and have considered doing this too. Anyone had any experience with phones2u or able to offer any advice on getting this company to honour their deal ?

Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
If you wish to consider court action, you should visit this site. http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/claims/index.htm Yes, they are breaking the contract. Be aware than some other companies who had promised cashbacks have gone into administration. If this happens, the courts are nolonger an option and you would have to wait for the administrator to see if there was anything left for you after his fee has been paid.

Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
I believe Phones2udirect to be one of the worst companies of this type, even more so than Phonebox Direct and Cool New Mobile who have recently gone bust. At least I successfully managed to get all my cashback from Phonebox Direct on a deal I had with them last year, even if I have lost out this time around. I had a contract for my girlfriend with Phones2udirect this year, and sent in my first claim correctly. They eventually replied denying my claim because they said I hadn't included the correct paperwork, but I know full well that I did. They said I hadn't included the invoice they sent me with the phone, but they never actually sent an invoice. I had a delivery note which was the only paperwork they included, but that wasn't good enough for them. So they get you right at the start when they don't even send you the paperwork that you supposedly need to claim. I tried to argue with them but got no response so I gave up in the end, despite losing £360. I have definitely learned my lesson with cashback schemes now, and if there are still any companies operating these kind of deals I would advise everyone to steer well clear of them.

Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
Please could you clarify the following: Phones2udirect - Customer Service FAQ say:
To apply for your cashback, you will need to refer back to the terms
and conditions agreed to at the point of purchase for full details on
what is required and when, however the following general rules always
apply.
• The first application is made by sending in the bill for month 6.
However,
On T & C page for Cashback and Free Line Rental Offers it says:
N.B. For clarification the 6th month's invoice is classed as the first
airtime bill issued after you have had the phone for a period of 180
days from the date of connection (inclusive). Subsequent bills will be
the first ones issued after each 90 day billing period, with the first
period commencing from day 180.
Clarification required:
Bill for the month 6, comes before 180 days are complete. So if I have
to send the first airtime bill issued after I have had the phone for a
period of 180 days, it will be the 7 the bill. This is because the
bills are issues 30 days in advance. Please could someone advise me on this. Thanks

Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
Make sure that you keep a copy of anything that you send. I suppose you could send both bills but if it's the same scam that a few other companies have been running, they will expect you to keep paying the monthly bills without paying you the cashback.

Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
I had the same problem with phones 2u direct & eventually my network provider (02) sorted it out for me. Don't be put off by customer services telling u that it's nothing to do with them. Insist on your complaint being escalated to the serious complaints dept. I was informed that network providers would black list any company not complying with the agreed terms of cashback & they are in a position to exert pressure on phones 2u direct & other such companies. Good luck

Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
I wouldn't accept that from customer services. You need to escalate your complaint, so ask them for their compalints procedure which they have to give you. Then put your complaint in writing & point out that under Ofcom's code of practise for sales & marketing of subsciptions to mobile networks, they are required to monitor the activities of such companies as phones 2u direct & make sure that they comply with this code of practise detailed on the following link: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/telecoms/ioi/mbp/cop.pdf. Hope this helps anyone trying to obtain mobile phone cashback

Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
Clicking any phones2udirect offer appears to redirect you to e2save (owned by Carphone Warehouse). Not sure what this means, but perhaps e2save have bought them out?

Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
The bad news is that Phones2udirect have gone into liquidation so there's nothing much left to do. This is following the trend from previous Mobile phone dealers like Mobile Matters (UK) Ltd. (trading as The Mobile Outlet), Simply Communications UK Ltd. (trading as Simply 3G), Click Mobile Ltd., Mobile Rainbow (about to call creditors' meeting), Express Mobiles, Dial a Mobile Ltd. (trading as Mobile Connections), Mobile City Telecommunications, Esus Ltd (trading as Easy Mobile), Palm Communications, Just 3G, Forward Cellular, MobileClub7.com, Mobile Affiliates Ltd. (trading as Coolnewmobile and Phones2yourdoor), Mobile Media Systems Ltd. (trading as Phoneboxdirect) This is an unfair situation where innocent consumers have been conned by this unscrupulous companies that were acting with the blessing of the Telephone Networks. A group of consumers are trying to get together for a class action against the networks to try to claim the money they are owed. If you would like to join them feel free to email Moderated -- email addresses removed, in line with MS terms of service. You don't have to be a Phones2udirect victim to contact this group, anyone affected by a Mobile phone cashback, like Phoneboxdirect Coolnewmobile Simply3g or The Mobile Outlet can join the group. To attempt action against the networks on an individual basis would be high-risk and costly. Clearly, in the event of litigation success only those consumers directly participating in the class actions would retrieve their cashback entitlements and costs. Anyone not participating in any action would not recover any of their cashback as a result of this. Re: phones2udirect cashback claim
These guys at phones2udirect are quite simply CHEATS - they owe me £1500 in cashback deals! It is not right that people can simply rip people off & 'hide' behind a limited company. They should be made to pay up what they owe, even if it means selling their personal possesions such as their home to do so. Until the law is changed to make individuals accountable for theor actions, similar scams will unfortunately continue to occur. The bankrupcy is currently being dealt by Moore Stephens LLP, Victory House, Admiralty Place, Chatham Maritime, Kent, ME4 4QU. Their report can be downloaded at http://www.moorestephens.co.uk/websites/uk/uk.nsf/pages/phones2udirect Note: This post has been moderated.
