Hi Welshwizard --- I can't give you the link here but place, "missold ppi" into Google, and have a look at the 5th article down from, "thisismoney" it explains what constitutes an illegally sold policy and how to challenge it, with the letter templates you will need.

    Re: Payment Protection Insurance, PPI

    hi all,

just stumbled across this forum whilst doing a google search to see if we could get legal help.

my girlfriend and i bought a caar through Ucan car credit and were told that we had next to no chance of getting the loan without PPI. The salesman made it perfectly clear that the only way we couldn't claim would be if my partner got fired for something that was her fault. On hearing this we took out the PPI and everything was running smoothly. Now,5 months on,my girlfriend is pregnant (unplanned by the way) and the PPI are refusing to do anything because pregnancy is not covered. She is planning on returning to work after the birth of our child but they told us we HAD to continue the loan payments whilst she is on maternity leave, which is impossible on SMP.

does anyone know of anything we can do or know of anyone this has happened to before?

    many thanks

    Re: Payment Protection Insurance, PPI

    That is really, really interesting.

And I have to say that I am not surprised that a furore is brewing. I dislike the PPI product on principle - did you know that women who take it out will be dscounted from claiming if they get pregnant, on many policies?

This happened to me and I fought it and won, but how sexist and ridiculous.

Big Smile [:D] Re: Payment Protection Insurance, PPI

    Hi All

1st of all i thank you all for your post and quick replys.

Has Anyone heard of Yes Car Credit???? well because i had a bad credit score, no car company would give me finance, so i had to go to them, on the contract it has 2 coloums 1 is for the car finance, the other is for the PPI, The monthly payment is combined and payable in 1 payment each month. However the condition of the sale of the car is that i had to take out the ppi. I did my homework and i am a member of a site which is close to all,,, about yes car credit .www.saynotoyes.co.uk Check it out
There's a link to a solicitor. I didnt take up this solicitors offer but 1 day in my e-mail i recieved a link to another solicitor based in Manchester and it's a no win no fee case.

I no longer have the car, i told then i am wanting rid of it, as i was legualy in my right to do so, i paid all the payments up to the half way mark and no other money for the car would be due. However the ppi still stands, i can tell you there's a big issue going on at the moment to do with ppi, your rights under the law. Programs have covered this issue, ie: trever tonight, ect
Watch dog has also bin involved and the office of fare traiding. My solicitor tells me there is a 80% chance in a win. I could get back every penny i paid for ppi, as yes car credit has brocken the law. I hope this helps to answer all yr questions, if not leave a post or post your personal experiances on ppi, i will be more than interested to read your experiances. thank you all

    Re: Payment Protection Insurance, PPI

I remember from my days working at NatWest that PPI is often paid as a lump sum premium, and added to the loan. So perhaps the situation here is that the full number of years premium has been paid, and is now sought back on a pro-rata basis? Just guessing.

It would be better were it offered on a pay-as-you-go basis.

    Re: Payment Protection Insurance, PPI

I don't know much about this but it seems a bit strange. How long is the PPI contract? Why can't you simply stop paying and the insurance cover ceases? Which is just what you want.

    Re: Payment Protection Insurance, PPI

    Dear mail4moy

"...there's a claws in the contract..." How are you "fighting my case in a no win no fee Law suit..."? Is the contract legal or illegal? How have you managed to interest a lawyer in a case where, on the face of it, the sum involved is likely to be modest?

I am very keen to know because what you may have achieved would 'make my day'.

    Regards

Crying [:'(] Payment Protection Insurance, PPI

The law has to change, I had a car and had the right to hand it back after a 2 year payment, I had ppi, Acording to the contract i have to keep paying the PPI,
Why should anyone have to pay PPI if you no longer have the car???
Well there's a claws in the contract that i have to. Has anyone had the same problem, I am in the process of fighting my case in a no win no fee Law suit.
