Help - the card provider has charged me £15 late pt although I set up a D/D months ago to collect pt . Previous months have been fine . Style Financial Services ( Kwik Fit Card ) .

Payment was due on October 3 , statement shows it received on 4th , has not left my bank till 6th .

Will obviously demand refund but before I phone could they try and wriggle out of this somehow ?

It looks as if either Style sent the d/d payment request to your bank too late for it to reach your account before the payment due date, there was a delay in processing the d/d by the bank or Style, or there was a computer or network problem. As it was only 1 day late, then I think you would have a good case to request a cancellation of the £15 fee in the circumstance, but it is possible they will refuse. Its possible your card has a short interest-free period of say 15 or 20 days after the statement date, and the payment collection schedule was a few days late - it is unusual to collect so near the due date - maybe it goes through the Scottish payments services because Kwik-Fit is registered in Scotland, I think.
