    Re: Parents buying my flat?

    Thanks Skywalker.

Also, I put the flat on the market through the local agent and gave them sole agency for 12 weeks.

If my parents want to go ahead and buy my flat, am I within my rights to take the flat off the market with the agents and sell privately to my parents? Obviously I would like to avoid paying the huge agent fees if possible.

Although the agents are marketing my property, I have still not returned the signed contract to them yet. Not sure if this makes a difference.

As always everything depends on salary levels and affordability, against existing debt.

    Parents buying my flat?

    Hi

I am selling my flat valued at £145,000 and my parents are interested in buying it as an investment.

They currently have a 3 bed house worth approximately £190,000 with £40,000 outstanding on their joint mortgage.

If they go ahead and purchase my flat, they intend on renting either their house or the flat.

What are their options regarding releasing some equity from their 3 bed house to use as a deposit to buy my flat? Also, would they be able to get a second mortgage for the remainder?

Any help would be very much appreciated.
