    Re: Overdraft - help!!

If you apply for and get a card with a good balance transfer deal it may help you even if the limit isn't what you want. Remember though that if the card issuer works out what you have already worked out - that you already have more credit that you can easily deal with - you will get a low credit limit or a rejection.

Your priority needs to be to create a budget and reduce your debts every month.

    Overdraft - help!!

    Hi

I'm trying to decide what to do for the best. I have an £1800 overdraft limit and at the moment I am about £967 overdrawn. By the time I get paid again however I will be overdrawn around £1400-£1500. My overdraft is 0% interest up to £1,000 and then I get charged interest after that.

I've also got credit cards, the worst one of which is Mint and I just seem to be paying off the interest every month. The minimum repayments are £132 a month. Then I have a Halifax card which is around £60 a month minimum and a Barclaycard which is £20. I don't know what to do. I really want to get my overdraft sorted and I see that MBNA do a credit card with 0% until May 2010 on balance transfers and cash transferred into your account. Is this a good idea do you think in order to get my account back to normal and then aim to try and pay more off the cards each month? I wondered if I'd be able to balance transfer the Halifax card maybe but I'm worried they won't give me enough credit limit and then I'm stuck with another card which hasn't really helped me to do what I need to do. Any suggestions anyone? Please!!!
