Overcharging on switching ORANGE - 30 day notice (how to get your money back)

Earlier this year I switched from Orange to 02 for my broadband services. Did everything by the book, got a MAC code telling them I wanted to leave, but yet they still insisted on charging a 30 day notice period from the date of the swich. I contacted them to try and get a refund but they continually refused.

This morning I received a letter from Orange agreeing to pay my claim put through the Ombudsman Cisas.

If you want to get your money back follow these steps

1 Write to Orange customer service and ask for a refund of your overcharge saying you gave notice when you requested the MAC code

2 Speak with Offcom and discuss your specific situation

3 When you reach a deadlock with Orange (you need to get them to give you a deadlock letter) lodge a case with the Ombudsman for Orange Cisas.

4 When filling in your claim remember to include an allowance for your inconveniience, and not just the overcharge

This process is a pain but must be done within a set time limit.

    Good luck.
