Re: outstanding debt prolem
Have you been to see your local CAB? They can help with letter forms and sorting out an income and expenditure so as to get your debts under control. Also, if information is sent by them to your creditors then, often, interest rates can be reduced or possibly even frozen, at least for a short period of time.

Re: outstanding debt prolem
I am a self employed black cab driver in London so earn good wages but deal basically with cash. I have not drawn any money from my bank in two years but do have direct debits etc come out of them. I can afford the payments to all my cards and try and pay at least double what i should. No letters have been written to any of them as I have not needed to. I just want it all in one place so they are easier to manage. The breakdown with my bank is due to a payment or two being bounced and they were not at all friendly. I have also just sent a letter last week trying to reclaim all of my bank charges which total £510. I have run the overdraft for about six months and live in private rented accomadation so getting a decent rate loan is difficult. Any ideas, and I do appreciate your time.

Re: outstanding debt prolem
hello flipper
What is your complete up to date situation? Can you afford the present payments and are you making them? Have you written any letters? If so what is the gist of them? Also how much can you say about the breakdown in your relationship with Barclays? If you can say anything meaningful if you feel you can be brutally frank about whose responsible for the breakdown this would be useful.

Re: outstanding debt prolem
SOrry to take so long to reply, my computer decided to break down!!!! I currently have a barclays account but they will never give me a loan, I have run an overdraft for a while due to an ongoing argument with them. Any other ideas?

Re: outstanding debt prolem
Have you tried seeking advice from the bank where you hold your, or your main, current account as a first step?

Re: outstanding debt prolem
thanks for your advice but my credit rating is not great. Any ideas or companies where the loan would be agreed and not some extortionate rate? Thanks

Re: outstanding debt prolem
Get rid of ALL your cards, consolidate the lot into a loan and NEVER use a credit card again. For £800 per month this should be doable and achievable, but DON'T do it through another card - this is a rip-off!
