Have you though about asking scottish power about if they have help for people on income support??

Im with Southern Electric. Southern Electric is owned by Scottish and Southern Energy which manages the largest distribution network in the UK.

I am on benifits and they brought my electric prices down from 15.07p per unit to 8.30p per unit.

Cause even though british gas have this Essential Tariff they are still more expencive than alot of Suppliers.

This Essential Tarriff basically gives people the price before there recent price rise.

I am (or rather was until today) with Scottish Power - I pay both electrictiy and gas per month direct debit, it has just gone up from £73 per month to £126.50 - I realise that fuel prices are on the increase but this is ridiculous - I have just changed over to British Gas as I understand they provide an Essential Tariff which helps people like myself who are on benefits (I am a single mother and receive income support).
I'm a little concerned after reading reviews on this site for british gas, they don't appear to be very highly regarded, does anyone on here benefit from this essential tariff from british gas and have I done the right thing?
