Re: orange increased my monthly contract by 4.34%

Having checked my agreement there is a condition in the T & Cs that allows them to increase the price in line with inflation so they are within their rights to increase in this way although it came as a surprise to me as well. The T & Cs are on the back of the agreement I signed in store and I suspect if you set a contract up over the internet then it will be covered by you ticking the "I've read the Terms and Conditions" box.

I guess you can always try ringing up but I suspect it depends where you are in your contract and how long it was for in the first place.

Re: orange increased my monthly contract by 4.34%

    I had the same problem.

The guy fed me the same line about it being a vat increase and not within their control.

After a discussion about how id signed up for a £40 contract not £40.43 he offered to lower the tarriff.

You can lower your tarrif anyway after 6 months with orange so i refused it.

In the end he gave me a vertain % discount and lowered my tarrif and im saving £9 per month!

Worth looking into lowering the tarriff on smart phones too as my minutes doubled and i went from 300 to unlimited texts when i dropped 1 notch.

My girlfriend is with them too. Is there anyway to opt out of their contract due to this increase??

    Thanks

orange increased my monthly contract by 4.34%

    hi

today morning i received letter from orange that because of inflation they are increasing my monthly contract amount by 4.34% i called them and ask about it since on the time of contract they never told me any thing about future price increases .they insisted that its in there terms and conditions which they never sent to me on the time of contract . though it does not make a huge amount but just as a matter of principle do they have this right to increase the price of contract any time they want ... any one else in the same situation???
