    Orange - AVOID AVOID AVOID

    Well,

Further to the previous post regarding orange and cancelling the contract: http://www.moneysupermarket.com/community/forums/t/fed-up-amp-cancelling-my-contract-with-orange-24767.aspx

I have to agree that Orange, of late, have provided absolutely shoddy service when it comes to making a claim for a fully functional mobile.

My HTC Touch is the worst phone in the history of mobile technology. This is a REPLACEMENT phone from the one that previously stopped working. The memory is very low even though nothing is open, the phone's touch screen is non-responsive, it keeps locking every one minute meaning that nothing can be used, everytime a call comes in it automatically rejects it after one ring and it takes about 20 minutes to call them back because it keeps crashing knocking the phone out. When it eventually says 'Dialling' it then says 'Ended' as if I'd ended the call.

Now, when I called up a week ago I was taken through many 'diagnostics' which didn't prompt a return? Why? It's clearly a fault that cannot be rectified over the airwaves and it will need to be returned. Orange have promised calls back on a daily basis but have failed in their duty to do this. The 'technical support' are as knowledgeable as my 79 year old granddad on mobile phones and the customer service people have an absolutely foul way of empathising with the customer - as if it's being read off a script. I'm not interested in sorry's, I'm interested in using the phone I pay £60+ on a month! I also pay £6 Orange Care. WHAT ORANGE CARE? WHY AM I PAYING THIS?

I'm changing providers on Monday morning and will NEVER be returning to Orange. I do not advise anyone to attempt contact with this provider. You'll be queuing for 30-40 minutes for Customer Services and then get through to a party to whom cannot understand your query or respond in a familiar language.

    AVOID AVOID AVOID.

    Disgruntled.

Orange are a nightmere all over!

2 years ago when I had a contract with them, my bill was £35 every month without fail...until the last 4 months of the contract. The bills were coming in at £150 -£200 per month. APPARENTLY I had been making calls and txts to a person 10 mins from the Orange Customer service centre up north...

I called this guy to find out how I had been spending £20 a night in some situations calling him and txting him...he didnt have a clue who I was and didnt know my number! He didnt even know anyone that lives near me as we were 4 hours travelling apart!!

Basically someone at the orange customer call centre was stitching me up with calls that they had probably made and were puting them on my bills!! I has heard that this had happened before with them also!

The funny part came when they did their investigations to find that 'I had definately been making these calls'. Even though the guy I had apparently been calling didnt have a clue who I was !! I almost got a CCJ as I refused to pay the bills...

ABSOLUTE RUBBISH! THEY ALL HAVE CARAVANS!

Re: Orange - AVOID AVOID AVOID

I have had orange and I have to agree with the heading....avoid. It was this company that took over a year in 2004-2005 to fix thier automated minutes remaining service, which is how many of thier customers at that time had ridicolous bills due to this inactive service. They have the worst customer rention strategy. All of my friends who lost out in the closing of the Birmingham cahs back companies fiasco were orange customers.

Personally , the ethics in the whole mobile industry is questionable. It seems like neither these companies nor government have given serious matters to the discrepancies that are taking place.
