I've recently changed my broadband from Tiscali (probably the worst in terms of customer service and frequent internet downtime) to O2. Just to let you know that O2 Broadband, besides costing only 7.50 per month, the customer service is excellent, and excellet speed as well. Certainly worth it for those who is hunting for a good provider. ALso comes with with a free wireless router which is quite handy.

Good to hear that the former Cellnet bunch are still doing OK. Tiscali (aka: Pipex) is still the biggest steaming pile in the ISP world VERY closely followed by the TalkTalk people.

When you moved provider did you have to surrender your Tiscali mail address or can you still access it?

I am looking to move from BT to o2 but I need to clarify if I will still have access to BT mail or not?

Yes, my Tiscali email address was deactivated once my O2 broadband was online. The transfer process took less than 2 weeks after I got the MAC code from Tiascali. I'm not sure what will happen to your BT mail though.

I'm using O2 mail now and you get 100 free texts online as well, which is quite handy.

I am sure I will loose my email accounts also, its going to be a right pain really but hey ho.

Is there an easy way of setting up o2 mail so that you can pick it up on the move. i.e. mail settings etc, etc?

The O2 account login and password is all pre-set for you once you sign up with them. All you need to do is log on and the user interface is quite simple.

After more than a month with O2, I have no complaints... 7.50 broadband per month, free texts, free wireless modem from O2 (needs to be returned when contract is over), excellent speed, friendly customer service... all opposite to Tiscali.

I have just left tiscali after not being able to connect for 8 weeks (best thing i ever did). So i have just moved over to 02 broadband....I must say that the service is excellent so far (hope it stays that way. I went in store and sighned up and my modem was delivered the next day. (but i wasnt in) They keep you up to date with your order by texing you which is great saves you making the call, and even when you do have to ring them its a 0800 number and the person on the other end is English. Had a fault on my line the other day which i wasnt aware of, 02 texed me and said they were dealing with it. So said so done, was able to go back on line within half hour. Would reccommend 02 and its all at a reasonable price!

but all the rest you said is right, i wonder why there arent more people using o2. i find its definitely the best provider, and they are NOT trying to force u into giving them your landline either...

so thumbs up for o2, would be even better if they would have nice mobile deals, but you can get the discounted price when you have a prepaid phone as well so its more than okay

Im so glad your pleased with o2. i work for them and im proud to as well. there ethics are genuine and i am not pressured from 'above corporates' to hard sell - its fantastic. i use the simplicity dongle and love it cos i take my laptop everywhere.

anyway, just so you know, if you on payg mobile and want to upgrade your handset, visit o2 and ask them to check your upgrade for prepay discount. you get 50p for every £10 top up saved into a pot and when you purchase your new phone, take the amount off the price. plus, trade an old phone in too for more discount.

I joined up when I moved house and had to get ADSL broadband, and I have only had one problem so far: when I tried to email 02 to say thanks for getting it set up quickly and sorting everything out efficiently, I couldn't find an address to send it to! In the end I sent it in through their online question form, hope they received it, I am trying to promote giving credit when you get good service, as I have slipped into just being a complainer in the past.
