    NPower Price Fix 2011

    Scott,

Has this product now been withdrawn? The Price Indicator does not show a change but it doesn't seem to exist as a tariff option anymore using the comparison tool.

    Re: NPower Price Fix 2011

    backfoot,

Yes this product was removed on Friday 20th June 2008.

The price indicator is mainly to inform customers of new products and price changes but doesn't, as yet, include informing customers of product removals.

This is certainly something we will consider adding.

    Many thanks,

    Regards,

    Re: NPower Price Fix 2011

    Scott,

Thanks. I signed up to it on the 20th via MS. I was not happy to be back with NP but this fix seemed attractive for a higher than average energy user. Given the market talk, that we are once again in for some whopping increases, I hope the longer term fix will prove of benefit.

Most fix products are very short term and don't look good to me,but the 2011 fix looks like a good hedge. What do you think?

Just to let you know that Scott is out of the office for a couple of weeks.

As far as the NPower Price Fix is concerned, I’m not sure if you’ve seen Paul Schofield’s latest Rate Alert article, or not:

Cut your energy bills and go green

“While opting for an online or green tariff would work out as the quickest and easiest way to save money in the short term for those who are moving off standard tariffs, they will not protect you from the affects of further increases in energy bills. People who want peace of mind should consider a fixed or capped energy tariff. These deals are more expensive than the best variable rate products."

I hope that helps a little. I didn’t want you to wonder why Scott hadn’t replied!

    Re: NPower Price Fix 2011

Actually, backfoot, I must apologise. I've only just been informed that the Scottish & Southern Fixed Discount 2010 is actually not a true 'fixed tariff'' - it is only a discount which is guaranteed to be 2% lower than their standard rate product until July 2010. Apologies for any confusion or misunderstanding.
