    Nothing but praise for Supanet

Signed up here to check on my ISP only to find there is little if no coverage. So given that I just wanted to say that these guys, thus far, truly float my boat.

Admitidly I've only been with the company for three months but I've found my service faster, more reliable and generally better than with previous ISP providers who I guess I shouldn't name. And their cheap, on calls too.

I hear they offer more too, but it all goes above my head. All this Voip calling malarkey and things like that. Not looked into that yet though. Got a plamtop I inherited from my father and be well up for using it, even if it is just a case of shineyitus.

Be interested to hear about what good experiences readers of this post have had with Supanet and the what you can tell me about all this new age tech?

Ha ha ha, you're funnnnny! you've gone and done just that in another of your posts!

By the way, my bruv-in-law uses voip sometimes to call me but it's rubbish. i can hear my own voice thru the phone louder than his! I dunno whether its got summin to do with his connection.

Oh also, i'm with Virgin (since the days of NTL) and i haven't really had a problem except just this once when i didn't hav connection for a week due to summin wrong with my cable. they had to replace it and its been fine. and the technician was brilliant. he waited nearly a half an hour for me!

By the way, strangely enough, the guy mentioned that the BB speed decreases a lot between the exchange (which is only about a 30 second walk away) and my house. But i'm happy with the service.

    Nothing but praise for Supanet

    Hi all,

I think Damon has a vendetta against Supanet, much like I have one against NTL (who have now painted their naff package red and sold it to Virgin). Either way I know NTL to be absolute morons. I had a deal with them which from the very first month they charged me extra for and then argued the toss when I tried to cancel. Maybe I should start a thread against NTL, but anyway the reason why I'm here...

I, too, have recently signed up to Supanet despite some dodgy press and so far I have had no problems (touch wood). I was signed up quickly and efficiently and so far my connection speeds are pretty good. I have been dropped a few times but that's more my area than the service.

I read something somewhere about Supanet being crafty with their contracts. Apparently you sign up for 12 months and then if you cancel within 24 months you get charged a cancelation fee. Which is fine really if you bother to actually read the contract instead of complaining about it later.

But the real reason why I signed up for Supanet was its talk package which gives you free evening and weekend calls. It's perfect and you don't have to change your existing BT number. To be honest I recommend it more than the broadband!

Either way, so far no problems. I'll keep you guys posted

    Avoid Supanet at all costs

    dave_Ian,

You are right, they are not my favourite company as they have threatened me on several occasions and caused me much distress. But to answer your points.....

    1. All of the above links are nothing to do with me. They are comments and opinions of other Supanet users made on various websites. (I take it you have read them???)

    2. I had read their T&Cs fully, and agreed to them. They changed them half way through my contract without informing me and tried to hold me to them. OTELO has since made them back down after I (and several other people) lodged a complain against them. Some have even been paid compensation for Supanets shoddy practices.

Even for new customers do you not think it a little poor to hide a 24 month cancellation fee in the small print of a 12 month contract ??? Yes or No ?

    3. Supanet may now be OK since so many people have left them. Their whole problem was poor latency and trafic shaping at peak times. Try playing COD4 online. I'd like to know the results. I now have a ping of 32ms. What is yours? I suspect it's in the hundreds?

    4. Make an informed decision. Look for yourself on-line. Don't take my word for it. Don't base your decision purely on price. You get what you pay for.

    Pay peanuts GET MONKEYS.

I will also add I had nothing but praise for Supanet when I first signed up. Infact thats what my first letter of complaint to them started with. My my how things have changed.

    I wish you the best.
