Oh dear, oh dear... If I had read all the previous LAND OF LEATHER threads I don't think I would have gone near them!...
We bought a £1400 corner suite in March and have been waiting 10 weeks for delivery. With no contact from them, we telephoned 'LOL' to see what was going on. The lady on the telephone says "no, your delivery's not due until late June" (in fact it was 17th of May).
The store manager failed to return our calls for a week, so we paid him a visit. He couldn't be specific about anything and seemed not to care, telling us it wouldn't be in dock until July. He offered us our money back but that's no good to me.
I wrote a strong complaint letter to their head office and two weeks on they have still not replied (although they say they wrote back last week!?)
We have been in communication with head office now but one of their area managers seems not to care either and has failed to call back for several days.
The only person we've spoken to was a lady at head office who seems to think there's a shortage of leather and has eventually offered us free delivery and £50 off the price. They estimate a delivery date of mid July making it a total wait of 18 weeks.
It makes my blood boil that companies such as LAND OF LEATHER can treat their customers in this way and have such a disregard for common courtesy.
I would like to know if people think free delivery and £50 off is a reasonable offer of compensation.
I would also like to know where I stand if I decide to protest outside one of their stores (got nothing better to do for a week as my sofa's not here!)
