Nope- you still get penalties- I had a letter from them only last week- though last year I did get a letter saying if we wanted to go elsewhere that was fine and dandy! My current 5 year deal runs out in September 2010 and it says on the letter if we move early its around £600 all in! (off the top of me head).

As they are still up the creek without a paddle financially, they aren't really bothered about people staying with them, but will sting you if you move mortgage providers early or repay early.

    Northern Rock - early remortgage?

My current three year deal ends with NR in June 2010, does anyone know if they are completing earlier on deals and allowing you to go elsewhere without penalty?

Also if you are setting up a new deal, how soon can this be done with a new mortgage company?

    Thanks
