    Northern Rock

Some NR customers are being offered transfer mortgages with Lloyds at the end of their fixed rated deals.Mine is due to expire at the end of this month and when I spoke with NR Customer services they hadn't got a clue if Lloyds will be in contact.Does anyone out there have some info on size of Mortgage and length of loan that they are likely to be using at parameters before contacting existing NR customers

    Many thanks

    Mike

Hi Mike....Lloyds can not contact you unless you have given express authority under data protection rules or you contact them yourself. Their rates aren't any better than some others and you will not get special treatment from them either. I would see fees free independent broker to access all the mortgages available before deciding either way. Finally NR should be able to offer favorable rate still for existing customers so long as the loan to value is not too high.

    Re: Northern Rock

All depends on the loan to value...what is the loan and the house value??

    Re: Northern Rock

What's all the fuss about Mike?????

Such a low loan means that in todays market there will not be much difference whichever way you go. You do not want a rate that includes fees, so NR can fix at 6.49% for 5 years, no fees or you could change to Woolwich completely fees free apart from the NR exit fee, at 6.29% lifetime tracker. To be honest I would just fix with NR and after 5 years....no more worries??
