Webflinger: Ones on Ebay are selling for more than in the shops and amazon.
It's a bit of a vicious circle on eBay with thinks like games consoles and phones. People see what you have seen then, often with no other experience of selling on eBay, they spend a large wad of money on something expensive and list it there for sale in the belief that they will be certain to earn a few extra pounds.
Nigerian hustlers will then see the expensive item listed by an inexperienced seller (they can tell who is inexperienced from feedback and from the way items are listed). They then bid to win the item with no intention of paying - so they usually bid more than the shop price - and, with fake emails and empty promises, they try to persuade the seller to post the item without payment being made. The seller then relists in the same way and the same thing will happen again. Lots of high prices for these items encourages more inexperienced people to list them for sale.
I have bought and sold lots on eBay but I would certainly agree with those who suggest avoiding the site for games consoles, mobile phones, plasma TVs and any other "must have" electrical items. I've mentioned the dodgy buyers above but there are an equal number of dodgy sellers in these categories.
