    Nintendo Wii

Has anyone seen a new Nintendo Wii cheaper than £169.97 (Amazon)?

I know a bloke in a pub who says he can get them for £150 cash. All original packaging around a genuine Welsh slate roof tile.

It sounds like you've found a good buy, particularly as it includes shipping and a game or two.

Definitely got yourself a good deal there!! The only place it may be cheaper is ebay? You might get more games or controllers with it for a similar price. Have you had a look?

    Re: Nintendo Wii

I had a look on eBay and the price there for a used one is similar to the Amazon price for a new one. Remember though that some of the bids on eBay will be from Nigerian hustlers and some of the listings will be by Chinese fraudsters. If you do find one a few pounds cheaper on eBay, my advice is pay the extra and get it from Amazon. eBay is great for hard-to-find items that cost a few pounds but, while I do buy and sell things there, I would think long and hard before entering into a high value transaction there.

Wouldn't go near Ebay for this, although do use it quite often.

Still can't beat price on Amazon, but would like a console with wii fit if possible.

I'm glad you have said that as i am fairly new user to ebay. I do know someone that has brought a Nintendo Wii of eBay with no problems at all, but i guess for a few pounds its not worth the risk!

    Re: Nintendo Wii

George, I've bought and sold many items on ebay, PSP, digital camera, DVD etc, but looking at the prices on there would rather have the piece of mind of knowing it's new.

Anyone know where I can get the console and wii fit together cheap?

What does that come with. Seems good if it comes with a game and wii sports.

After a week of searching and deciding I wanted Mario Kart too, went for a wii bundle from Zavvi for £195, this contains the wii console, wii sports, Mario Kart and wheel and a mega bundle.

Ones on Ebay are selling for more than in the shops and amazon.

    Webflinger:

Ones on Ebay are selling for more than in the shops and amazon.

It's a bit of a vicious circle on eBay with thinks like games consoles and phones. People see what you have seen then, often with no other experience of selling on eBay, they spend a large wad of money on something expensive and list it there for sale in the belief that they will be certain to earn a few extra pounds.

Nigerian hustlers will then see the expensive item listed by an inexperienced seller (they can tell who is inexperienced from feedback and from the way items are listed). They then bid to win the item with no intention of paying - so they usually bid more than the shop price - and, with fake emails and empty promises, they try to persuade the seller to post the item without payment being made. The seller then relists in the same way and the same thing will happen again. Lots of high prices for these items encourages more inexperienced people to list them for sale.

I have bought and sold lots on eBay but I would certainly agree with those who suggest avoiding the site for games consoles, mobile phones, plasma TVs and any other "must have" electrical items. I've mentioned the dodgy buyers above but there are an equal number of dodgy sellers in these categories.

So, now I've my wii, remote, racing game and wheel I could do with an extra remote.

Best deal I've seen is again at Zavvi, £26 for remote or £28 for remote and wii play.

    Anyone found one (new) cheaper?

    Re: Nintendo Wii

Same here, I usually only buy things like books off ebay as it's unlikely for anything to be wrong with them that's unseen in any pics. I have bought the odd electrical item but only brand new from ebay shops with loads of feedback and 99.9% rating. I got my Wii from Amazon too :)
