It is good that you are taking your time before jumping in to somthing. I have heard good things about the cash ISA too so I don't see any reason why not. There are a lot of options out there you should just look for the best rates, even though those are jumping around right now :/. Looks like you're on the right track to me!

Yes, but be sure to invest with someone that you know and trust - that doesn't necessarily mean the one that pays the most interest.

ISA is definately the best way to go Id say unless you are in a high income bracket because then a pension would be better if you are saving for retirement...because the tax benefits will be better for you in the end with the pension. However if you are middle/low income I would stick with a high interest ISA. There are various websites that compare the different rates. Just good one!

I think Cash ISA would be your best bet to save up to £3600 in this financial year. Make sutre you check the current interest rates to get the best deal.

Your first savings could certainly be directed to an ISA. If you reach the limit for a cash ISA, you can consider a stocks & shares ISA as well. There's nothing at all wrong with the ISA that you are looking at, so go for it.

    New Saver! Advice needed

    Hello all!

I will be starting to save £400 every month as from this month. This is my first well paid job so I have never saved before.

I have £1000 to put in as a fixed sum also.

I do not have a clue who to go with or anything. I have read through advice etc and others posts.

After researching I was thinking of a CASH ISA with Halifax?

Cheers guys and please show some patience with me :)
