That sounds like a sensible option, if I knew you had this contract I certainly would have recommended this option.

Just for your notes the new O2 service runs of the established Be* network.

    Good Luck and Kind Regards,

    Michael.

    Hi Michael,

    cheers to the reply.
I was looking at other broadband deals and because I have a mobile contract with O2 they actually do broadband for £7.50 a month. I am now getting my BT line rental plus free eve and weekend calls for £11.95 a month so I was thinking of just going with the O2 thing.

I don't think i'll bother with the cancellation fee and our building is listed so no Sky for us unfortunately.
As for telly, i was just gonna get a cheap freeview box.

Thanks again, let me know what you think about the O2 thing.

Jenny_Raitor:I called BT and they can reconnect for free which is cool. Just don't know whether to stay with BT or pay the cancellation fee and go with someone else.

    Hello Jenny_Raitor,

That’s good news about the landline, if you are going to pay the fee I would recommend TalkTalk for your area, they can provide Broadband, Line rental and E&W calls for under £17.

If you do want to stay with BT and want digital Tv Sky have some great offers available in your area and if you don't want Sky Tv then there are some great deals for wireless and non wireless too.

Let me know what your thoughts are and I will narrow it down for you further.

    Kind regards,

    Michael.

    Re: New Flat...phone/broadband

Depending on who you chose to provide your phone service, it may well cost you (quite a lot) to get the line working again. Don't assume the service hasn't been ceased just because you've got a dial tone. If it has been ceased, the line needs to be reconnected by a BT engineer somewhere in a junction box/at the exchange. Don't know if BT would charge for this, but Southern Electric phones (Talk) have just charged us £115 for reconnecting the line - we had a dial tone, but no DSL and the BT bloke had to come into our house to finish off the work....

    Good luck!

    New Flat...phone/broadband

    HI there,

I just moved into a new flat and there are a few white BT sockets about.  I am looking for broadband and a phone package (although the phone won't get used that much)
I have been browsing about the net but I don't really know what my deal is.  I am assuming that the BT line is still running but I might be lying.

If it is not, I guess it's just a case of getting it connected again, but seeing as the white boxes are in place I cant imagine it will cost anything, will it?

Also, I just really need some advise on what would be my best provider.
I have heard people talking about connecting with BT then paying the cancellation fee and going with someone else cause it works out cheaper but I am just nto too sure.
My post code is G12 9DB.
    I hope someone can help.

    Cheers in advance.

    Jenny.
