Hi --- I have not had dealings with them, but if you place the words, "new car discount reviews" into Google, it will return reviews from 14 customers who have dealt with them. I will let you draw your own conclusion. !!!!

Thanks for the lead . It makes interesting reading . I wished I had seen it first , before I ordered . I did visit them and everything seemed fine .

I am thinking this could be of interest to Watchdog !! Maybe I might end up on TV . It is good in some aspects that I am not alone .

    Still cheesed off

    Hello

I have read this with a lot of interest - could you let us know what happened then in the end? Did you get the car, or deposit, or more worries?

    Cheers

    Re: new car discount

We have sent a number of legal letters with no joy , so it is now in the hands of a Barrister and going to court . They have also not responded to any of the phone calls from the legal team .

Watch this space but I am not hopeful of seeing the car or the money . I would recommend in the future going to a dealership . It is strange as the we have done searches on them and there appears to be no resason why they can't deliver .

I hope you are not in the same situation as I am in and just starting to look .

    Have a great Christmas .

    Re: new car discount

Just out of interest, was it a Diesel S-Max you had ordered through them? Even Ford main agents can't get hold of these at the moment.

New car discount.com et al have a general price list and a sweeping 'presumed' discount. Sometimes they strike a deal with the manufacturer to take a load of cars off their hands at a discounted rate. In the S-Max's case, they presume a level of discount then go try find a car...without much luck...

    Hello

yes still thinking about it for the new year, but it would probably be a Galaxy because of the additional space in the back row!

    Cheers

    Re: new car discount

I did order a diesel S- Max , it could explain alot . I also felt they may save up a number of vehicles and gain the best discount . However they spent most of their time giving us the runaround . Maybe if they were more honest , or explain if they have a number of orders , they will gain the best discount , I would have been more patient but when they take the money and not deliver - it is very stressful . However they have sent a cheque back , so hopefully it is going to be resolved soon .

    Re: new car discount

When did you actually order your S-Max, so for how long have you been waiting for now? Also, does anyone have a clue about the wait for a new Galaxy order at the moment?

    Thanks

    Re: new car discount

Availability for Galaxy is not good. There are literally four or five cars dotted around the country unregistered. I would expect to wait around 15 weeks for one.

On a positive note this will, by default, put you in an '08' plate car. Further, it's definatley worth checking dealers against any interweb prices as there is going to be a 'deal' on them in Q1 of 2008 and you'll probably get reasonably advised as to a lead time....

A shed load of Zetec 1.8 Diesel 6 speed S-max's have just been built. You could get into one of these in about 3 weeks.

    Re: new car discount

    Hi

I ordered a car from these people in October 07. An Audi A6. I was told that it would be delivered on the 26th November.

Over the weeks that we waited for it I was constantly sending emails and making phone calls asking for updates as their web site which states that you can "track your order" didn't have any information on it at all except that our car was "on order". I could never get an appropriate response from them --always going to phone me back with an answer but never did etc.

On the 20th Nov I contacted them by phone to ask a particular question and was told that the person I had asked to speak to who was allegedly "managing my account" had left that day unexpectedly !! Of course alarm bells that had already been ringing began to ring even louder and more so again when I was told the sales man who originally took our order had also left.

I was told that someone else would now be dealing with me and of course had just been given our order to deal with that day so would have to do some checking and get back to me re all my queries. I waited until the 22nd and still no one had got back to me so on the 22nd ,and 4 days before our car was due to arrive, and having totally lost patience I called them again. This time I was told the the girl I needed to speak to was on the phone and she would call me back. I refused to accept this and stated I would hang on the phone for her. They kept me hanging on for ages obviously hoping that I would get fed up and a couple of times I was told she was still busy. Eventually she came to the phone and before I could say anything else she blurted out that my car had in reality not even been ordered at all.

She blamed several individuals for this and between her and others that I spoke to I got 3/4 different versions of excuses. There was no apology ,in fact the attitude of a"manager" that I spoke to was atrocious and he couldn't have cared less about letting anyone down. He said I would now get my car in Feb 08. I (probably less than politely) told him that hell would freeze over before I would continue my order with them and I would go elsewhere. He was fairly gloating when he said that I wouldn't get a new car any quicker elsewhere. However clearly my chances of actually getting a car elsewhere were significantly greater than relying on this company to get one at any point in time.

I found the company to be wholly deceitful and untrustworthy. I then had difficulty in getting my deposit of £1000 returned.I was told that I would have it within the week . I waited the week and then called them. I was then told that there hadn't been all 3 directors available to sign the cheque which was required but there were in the office that day and therefore the cheque had now been signed and was on its way to me. I clarified that this was the case and my expectation therefore that I would receive it the next day (which was a saturday) or the Monday and the latest and was assured that this was the case.

Saturday came and went as did the post on Monday with nothing in it.I called them again. This time the girl was" very surprised" that I hadn't received it as she had been told that it was to be sent the previous friday. I reminded her that she said it HAD been sent not that it was to be sent. She then undertook personally to ensure that it went out in the post that night even if it meant she signed the cheque herself!! I again reminded her that the previous week cheques needed the signatures of 3 directors.!!!!!!! She advised that she was going to "sort it out "right away and she would get back to me to let me know that it had been sent. I told her I would wait on the phone until she had sorted it out.

Eventually she came back saying that she had the cheque in her hand and that she was going to post it herself that day.

It arrived a couple of days later. I have no doubt that if I hadn't harrased then I wouldn't have seen that money again and to be honest given their conduct throughout didn't really expect to get it back at all so was very gald when I did.

I reordered my car with a local reputable dealer who honoured the price quoted by NCD and I was kept fully informed about the progress of the car--told when it came off the production line at the end of January and when it subsequently arrived at the garage. We didn't actually take possession of it until the 1st of March given the new registrations were only a couple of weeks away.

I would strongly suggest to anyone who was considering buying a new car to give this company a very wide berth.
