You are in temporary work, and you want to buy a brand new car, that will immediately go into negative equity as soon as you drive it away.

Think again. New cars are vanity purchases for people who want to show off. Get yourself a reliable little banger, and start saving your money.

Prioritise: Job, home, car (if you really need one) the rest.

    New car and finance

    Hello guys

I have never bought a brand new car before and am wanting a bit of advice really. Basically I am thinking of buying a Vauxhall Corsa for around £9000 from my local Vauxhall dealer. They are wanting a deposit of £159 and then 60 x £159.

However, I am in a temporary contract in work at the minute and may not have a job past December. We have been told we probably will have our jobs, but obviously the way things are nothing is set in stone. I enquired about PPI or anything like that but Vauxhall told me they don't offer that.

So my question is does PPI or something like it exist out there incase I do lost my job?

Thanks for any advice in advance.
