Hi romanof21,
Looking at your last post and the appliances you have listed 13 kWh per day is a possible amount.
The two items that are going to boost the number of units you are using is the water heating and the electric heating.
Don’t use the other meters in the communal area as a basis to judge your own consumption, just because your meter has a higher number displayed than the meters for other properties it doesn’t mean you are using more.
Meters when fitted don’t necessarily start at zero; therefore your meter may have been a higher reading than your neighbours to begin with. Alternatively you and the others in the building may use similar amounts but your reading is high due to the previous tenant using more than everyone else.
Even if you monitored all the meters and your usage was the highest, it wouldn’t necessarily justify anything as everyone’s usage varies from property to property and due to lifestyle.
My advice in this situation and to address your concerns would be to contact E.ON and ask to speak with the consumption department, they are a specialised team who will go through each appliance with you, ask how often each is used and explain how much (in kWh) each appliance will be using.
If they feel that the figures are high based on the information you provide, they will investigate this further for you.
If it gets to the stage where the usage can’t be explained and you are still concerned with the consumption, a check meter can be installed to see if your meter is running accurately. These tests cost £93 and this is payable in advance, if the meter turns out to be faulty E.ON will refund the value of the work and cover the cost, if the meter is accurate, you don’t get the £93 back.
This cost is why it is important to speak with the consumption team first and investigate how much your appliances are using.
