Need some advice on current accounts?

    Hi All

I am having a few problems getting a current account at the moment and I need some advice on the best account to apply for based on my circumstances.

To cut a long story short I go divorced 6 years ago and as a result I had to enter a debt management program to copy with my debts, but now all is a lot better. However I am having difficulty getting a current account.

What I am looking for is an account with:

Debit Card / Cashcard (Online Purchases, Shopping etc)
Standing Orders & Direct Debits (morgage etc)
Online Banking (can manage account from home)

I will be looking to pay in my salary (£2400) every month and they are still not keen!!!

I am just finding this very difficult, I have spoken to Natwest but they don't seem to be keen at all and have refered my account to head office for approval. I am not hopefull!

Any help or advice would be great

    Thanks

    Gopher

If you take the debit card off your list of requirements, you should be able to get an account.

Yeah, I know - but after some reasearch - I have found Yorkshire bank seem to offer some good basic services. They have a Maestro Debit Card.
