Re: Need a top IFA.. Where do I look?

    Hi

There is nothing like that - there are directories of IFA's, but none that I know with ratings, at least none that aren't just paid for adverts.

I'm in Hampshire - our trading standards dept has a list of 'approved tradesmen'. Your's may have a similar system.

Otherwise you are down to either personal recommendation or a 'telephone' shopping around exercise. If it's purely a case of getting the highest level of borrowing that could be a relatively easy call to make.

Incidentally, while IFA's sometimes do organise mortgages, some don't. One of the IFA's in our practice takes the mickey out of the rest of us becuase we do mortgages - he has hair and the rest of us are bald. There are plenty of mortgage advisers who get recomended by IFA's becuase some IFA's just don't like mortgages.

Hope that helps a little bit

    Adrian

Need a top IFA.. Where do I look?

    Hi

I'm in need of an Independent Financial Advisor to provide me with a mortgage quote and help me to identify the maximum I can borrow. Is there anything (available on the net for example) that "rates" IFA's? I want to be getting the best mortgage advice from the most professional IFA.

Where do I look for a top IFA?

    Thanks

    Angel

(P.S: I'm based in the East Midlands)
