HI chopper go in to any Natwest Branch and ask them to check up with their Service centres on the status of your application or give them your details and they will be able to check on their own systems to see the status of your application.

hi all, ive been looking to leave my abbey basic account behind, as they will not or cannot upgrade my account. Ive been with them 6 years, i have had bad credit and ccjs in the past (around 4 years ago), but have not missed a single direct debit or been out of work for the past 4 years either.

I applied to A&L and was turned down in thirty seconds flat, so i tried for a natwest step account online (was told its a good account to help me improve my credit rating), they didnt turn me down straight away like A&L, they said they would reply in writing.

Nearly 2 weeks has gone by and ive not heard a thing. I also think ive deleted the email that they sent to confirm they were sending a letter.

How much longer should i wait?

Should i just go ahead and apply for a different account? (assume ive been turned down)

Which bank account is the best to help me rebuild my credit rating?

My hopes would be, to be able to have a debit card on my account and possible upgrade after a set amount of time, if the account is well maintained.

I got accepted for a vanquis card the other day, only has a £200 limit but i assume this will also help my cause.
