    Underhand? Surely not !
Even better ......I was interested in transferring an old ISA into their 2 year fix so went into my local branch (I am a customer) to ask for information, specifically about this potential loss of interest before April.....they refused to give me any, insisting that I had to make an appointment to see an adviser for a "financial review"!!!!!!!!!! Since I've refused to have such a review (or sales meeting as it should better be entitled) for several years, I walked out and resolved NOT to give them my money -I'll look for another deal elsewhere.

I wonder if I was the only saver with this account !!!!!!

Note: Natwest now trying to attract savers with 2yr fixed 3.9% AER ISA account but will make you wait until 4th April to start receiving this rate. If you put your money with them today you will effectively be getting only about 3.39% AER, which is about £27 less for a full ISA allowance in a year from today (16 Feb). Is holding your money for 7 weeks before getting the full rate, a bit underhand?

Last reminder for those of you on the 2.89% AER special Esaver account

The end of today is the day that your savings interest goes back down to just 1% AER.

For a no restrictions easy access account on-line you can get 2.85% at Virgin or 2.8% at Tesco.

I received a letter this morning, from Natwest, to confirm the 1% AER rate as of 15th Feb 2012.

Natwest - reminder for E-Saving "INSTANT ACCESS" account holders.

For those of you who took the 2.89% AER "INSTANT ACCESS" e-savings account Sept-Oct 2010, now is the time to consider moving your savings elsewhere. As of 15th Feb 2012, the savings rate returns to 1% AER. As I now have a Tesco 2.8% AER account, my savings will be transferred there. However, there are several alternative "INSTANT ACCESS" accounts available, paying around the 2.8% AER rate, that you can consider. I spoke to Natwest yesterday and they confirmed that they could not better the 1% unless you took out a fixed rate, fixed term account.

Note: If you already have a Tesco Bank on-line "INSTANT ACCESS" account paying less than the current 2.8% for new customers, you can open another new account for the 2.8% rate. I have just done it, it was painless, and it was up and running, active and confirmed within an hour.
